It’s being cooped up inside that isn’t helping

There’s no conspiracy

I never said there is conspiracy. Do not put me in that group please. I just said the government are trying to calm people down with this hand washing information. I never said Bill gates and his foundation released the virus as an experiment which I have heard going around the internet. The earth is a sphere, I am pretty sure of that. Oh and God does not exist.

I think our children/grandchildren will be the enemy really. Being in a soup of hundreds of other potential carriers (remember kids can carry and may not even develop symptoms that bad) it’ll spread between them and then it’ll be when they bring it home and give it to an elderly relative it’ll cause issue.

Trying to be careful out and about is all very well but kids will prob spread it like wild fire in schools, who hasn’t been ill from their kids bringing stuff home from school. School buses! Nightmare... you see them all squashed in and windows all steamed up.

It sort of reminds me of animal life, like a group of chimps except we are civilised so we don’t beat the weak and elderly to death but the strong just give them an illness that can kill them instead.

It's not an airborne virus you muppet. Airborne viruses, like say Measles or Chicken pox have the ability for a carrier/host to infect a room full of people by just being present. COVID-19 is spread by via droplets form the mouth or nose. It can then be further spread from surfaces that have droplets deposited upon them. Washing hands and using alcohol gel can in most cases remove the virus.

Don't talk ****. If you don't know the facts, shut the **** up with your scaremongering.

No need to call me names. I may be wrong and hopefully so, not intending to scaremonger. What info you got that tells you it is not airbourne out of interest? I will admit that the guy on Joe Rogan show is my source, which I would tend to believe rather than the press. Please educate me.

I watched the Joe Rogan podcast with the expert in infectious diseases. He seemed very qualified, the information we are being given contradicts what the doctor is implying. So don't know what to make of it all.

I agree he does contradict what we are being told (masks and washing hands is not going to be that effective). Panic will not help so I understand the information we are given. I think it is the case we do not know enough yet. The one good thing he does say is that we will get through this but at a cost. He also states that this a wake up call for the world to be better prepared for this next time. He also predicted these events and up till now his prediction is spot on.

Sister is a GP, she says unless the fac mask is surgical grade then they are useless. Virus is small enough to pass through dust type masks. Breathing vapour will infect those in rooms or close proximity situations.

yep, the masks people are wearing are not perfect. I have heard the experts say air can still get round the sides. It’s not perfect but got to better than nothing.

Nothing beats a T-shirt lifted over the bridge of the nose, combats farts and covid19.

My mrs has to wear a mask and has a full face shield when she’s swabbing people along with a suit and two pairs of gloves! Bet the neighbours of the people getting swabbed must love it.

Not really, they are virtually useless. Think of it this way, dusk masks dont stop the smell of spray paint fumes or vaping fumes. They wont stop a virus in water vapour

The simple medical mask gets damp, and this goes right through fabric which enables a virus on the surface to get from the outside to the inside. So no not perfect.

The the common face masks you see in news etc are banned from many work sites and workplaces as they fail basic seal tests (cover exhaust and breath out).

Half mask respirators are the way to go, just need the correct filter. Mine filters out farts

McLaren have withdrawn from the Australian GP after one of their staff out there tested positive. Now looks like the whole GP is going to be cancelled.

14 mclaren team members now in quarantine, Hamilton wasn't happy it was going ahead, Mercedes sent a letter asking for the race to be cancelled. A lot of Motorsport series being put on hold, MotoGP, wsbk, formula E etc . .

A couple of weeks before this outbreak I had quite a strong feeling the world was going to experience something that could potential reduce the population . . . scary!

Loads of sport getting cancelled now. They even cancelled the Players Championship after it started! Imagine shooting 63 on your opening round and then it being cancelled

The more that comes out from Governments and especially ours the more cynical i'm becoming over the origin of this disease and how it's being allowed to spread. In the UK now they don't even want you to report it if you have it they aren't interested. There is no longer testing being done. This disease has been allowed to spread when a lot tighter controls could have been put in place to restrict it but they weren't. For example no controls/testing at borders such as airports where other countries are doing exactly that, but not ours. As usual this country does very little. All the advice is is to stay at home when they know full well much of the population won't do that and continue to spread it. Italy is a prime example of just how this will go.

Now look at the bigger picture. The World is suffering with the population age becoming increasingly older. This disease particularly affects the elderly and the sick. It attacks the very people who are costing Governments money in providing health care longer into their lives and those commonly referred to as bed blockers in hospitals. What a way to kill off the elderly and long term sick and reduce pensions and health care costs nationally and globally. An illness that comes out of nowhere with no cure or preventative vaccination that kills off the elderly and sick. Quite convenient if you are in Government really. They have already come out suggesting those who are already frail could well not be given critical care. As is already happening in Italy the choice between life and death will be made by hospital staff based on your age and long term health. Those unlucky will be sedated to prevent suffering until the virus kills them. That is what has been happening in Italy already.

For those saying it's just a bit of a cough and fever, yes it is if you are fit and healthy and generally below 50. For those not so lucky being old or have health conditions it's a horrendous death suffocating from the irreparable lung damage caused. I have a Son who is asthmatic on daily inhalers and it's a great concern for him as anyone with any pre-existing lung conditions are extremely vulnerable to this virus. So those taking the p!ss need to be a bit more thoughtful of those not as lucky as them who have valid reasons to be concerned.

yes, in the realms of fantasy we could.
along with government advice of working from home, nhs advice if you are infected sleep in a separate bedroom and use a separate bathroom . . . because we all have high paid positions where we can work in front of a computer screen in our 8 bedroom multi en suit bathrooms.

I'm self employed, building and property maintenance, I've clients that need work done pronto and I can't do that from home. I haven't got anyone that will pay me to take weeks off to self isolate. I also have a large chunk of my left lung that has been removed from an operation.

My wife is self employed, and owns a hairdressing salon. She is already feeling the hit of clients cancelling because of the virus, but she can no more afford to take time off to self isolate. She has ten or so members of staff to pay wages, let alone the overheads of running a business. If staff self isolate, yes they can claim sickness benefit, but who is going to cover this? Usually if this is the case the employer pays it, not the government. They just take it off the amount of tax/N.I contributions she pays the staff but the money has to be made in the first place.

So yes, we are worried, but not one of us will give up a sense of humour over this. It is not just 'taking the ****' as quoted above.Scary, but what do we all do? Everyone is worrying and the whole thing is a mess. But yes, we are worried for everyone

UK apocalypse could be on the way.

Not wanting to worry anyone, but had Ocado deliver my fortnightly shop (yeah I’m a snob ). Nothing odd on the delivery except they aren’t accepting the old bags for recycling

But the delivery guy said today was pandemonium in the stores with shelves being ransacked and online orders have gone insane. The website orders won’t process due to many people being on line and the app has frozen completely. Just tried it and he’s right!

Wowzers, we had the remoaners harping about Brexit causing shortages and chaos at boarders, when in reality the thing they really should have been truely worried about is the meer fear that the wider public may run out of something so they all go out any buy it all at the same time. This is far more damaging to both the public and and economy than any political/trade treaty.

(p.s Allergy induced Asthma sufferer...immune system a lot better since weaning off the steroids, used to get 5+ colds a year that’d last weeks each time, now get one a year and it lasts a week tops).
