I can image such a population decrease is predicted by fall in immigration due to Brexit and natual population decline due to birth rate below 2. Additionally, the life expectancy in the UK has been falling in recent years due to poor fitness/diet and lack of social care.
Although I'm really not sure how accurate that site is in its predictions or the source of its data, but generally, population has been naturally declining in most developed countries, while developing countries are still seeing population growth. Coutries like the UK have been trying to stem population decline by immigration, as without population growth, the current economic growth model doesn't work.
The idea that the Coronavirus is some kind of mass conspiracy is pure tin-hat stuff along with blaming 5G masts!

I'm probably missing something here, but just pulling up the death rates in the uk for 2019 were:
Jan: 53910
Feb: 45796
Mar: 43946
....
Dec: 47469
In 2020 the figures to date are:
Jan: 56706
Feb: 43653
Mar: 49723
April figures are not in yet, but assuming the figures above include Covid-19, is it more a case that an additional ~3k died in Jan, ~3k in Feb and ~2k in Mar? Of course any death is bad, but it looks to me that the death rate is not massively above what it normally is. Bigger picture... how many more would have died if we'd just gone for the big bang approach, I don't know, but I do think if the figures above, i.e. the normal death rate should be taken in to account.

7K is quite a big step for March! By all accounts the April deaths figure is significantly up on the long term average. We will never know for sure what the difference would have been if we reacted earlier or didn't react at all, but countries who reacted early have consistently seen lower (closer to normal) death rates. The normal death rates drop off over spring/summer with peak deaths occurring in the winter.

Sorry, misread what I typed in.
It would be good to know overall deaths, deaths attributable to Covid and then everything else. Look at previous years and that would give a more rounded figure as to how many people are actually dying because o it and how many would have died anyway.
It’s still not great, but just quoting one figure is a bit misleading.

If someone with mild symptoms dies of a heart attack, was it a covid-19 death or a heart attack death? If someone without covid-19 dues because they couldn't get hospital treatment due to the hospitals being full, does that death count as a covid-19 death?
Comparing to the long term averages will enable us to filter out the deaths that would have occurred anyway and filter in additional deaths that occur indirectly from covid-19. Ultimately it's the overall impact compared to "normal" which is relevant when assessing the death toll of the virus.
It's also very probable that we will see a future fall in death rates compared to the average as a consequence of older and weaker people dieing now, who would otherwise die in the next year or so. You could also argue that this fall in deaths should be taken into account when considering the impact.
For statisticians, this disease will be a very interesting event to analyse for years to come!
