LOL
It was one of best cars I've ever driven, let alone owned - in terms of handling and performance. Looked stunning also, I really miss it.
But it just kept going wrong, and the dealer just didn't seem to be able to fix the problems, so it had to go
Cheers

Hi Guys
Can I just make sure everyone is aware. This is a thread from 4 years ago which has been bumped to the top.
---
I will try to find a pic though, as it was a truly stunning car.
Cheers

Can't find a picture.. I only had one as far as I can remember, and I think it died with the netmetrics server but...
it was identical in appearance to this...
gulp.. I think I'm going to call the local Lotus dealer today.

The main thing was the handling. Even just the feel of the steering was enough to make me laugh outloud the first time I drove one, it's just incredible.
The only thing to match it in terms of handling feel (for my personal taste) is the ferrari F40. The 355 spider was very close to be honest, and the engine noise, and sheer fact that it's a ferrari make up the difference anyway.
I'm going to be spanking a Noble about as soon as I have a spare day, and I have a feeling it is likely to be even better. I hope not, because they're expensive, and I need to eat.

I have a friend who bought a black V8 Esprit about 6 months ago. Awesome car by all accounts but he is selling it already due to having constant grief with it. It recently lunched the gearbox - will cost him 4k to put right!!!!!!!!!!

ouch *just making an excuse to hang up from dealer*!!
That's a shame. I was told the V8's were more reliable.
To be honest, and fabulous as they are, I don't think I could go through the hassle I went through before.
In fairness, the actual car was exactly as I expected in terms of reliability, which didn't bother me that much.. the thing that ruined the whole experience for me was the dealer, and their inability to fix the actual problems. It would go in for two days with a list of problems, and come back out again with the same list of problems minus 1 maybe of them. Evetually, there were about 3 or 4 problems that they just didn't seem to have the expertise to fix, so I dropped the car off and demanded a refund. Which in fairness to them, they eventually gave me.
Still, like child birth (i would imagine!!) you soon forget the pain, and just remember how stunning it was when it was working
Cheers
