I joined in 2003, then disappeared, then came back in 2006.
Had a MY98 Turbo 2000 and a 2002 Bugeye STi over about 10 years. Now moved to US, drive a 2016 Golf GTi. I'd like to get back in a scooby but the wife says that they are douche cars and that she will divorce me if I get one, lol, we'll see

2001 in a 1999 TypeR at age 30.
2005 Sold the TypeR to buy Bob Rawles 2003 STI Twin Scroll.
2006 I also bought a 1999 Forester STurbo for the Train Station.
2009 upgraded the Forester to a Xten 2.5.
Had a break with a few Caterfield type kit cars as track cars.
2010 built an EVO Powered AWD hatchback (current track car).
2014 bought a new Supecharged S4 as a daily AWD.
2017 The S4 is gone, bought an R26 Megane as a temporary daily and thinking of getting another classic STI.

I remember you sir how are you doing?
Had mine from new, 1998, joined in 2002.
And I'm 65 .
But I tend not to post so much in the help sections now as I just got fed up of being shouted down by younger members who were certain that whatever they were suggesting would be fine because, and I quote: " IT worked really well on my RS Turbo".
They also seem to think that because I was opposed to certain things which are understood to be damaging to the Impreza engine, I was saying so because, and I quote again: "He's one of the oldies, he just doesn't want you/us to have any fun".
Seriously, life is too short to argue with morons like that.
Pretty much why I've retired from the Brexit debate too

Been on since 2000
over the 50+
Still have the Greenwagon after 17 and a half years
Going through a big restoration over the last couple of years
No club left in Cumbria but our B-SPOC club is going strong with a variety of marques and owners
There is occasional meets in the north east
Look on here maybe once a week but everything scooby wise had been discussed over the years
2009 STI and the chocolate pistons finished Subaru off on this country
Now you might see an odd Subaru in a Sunday afternoon

Have to disagree with you there John cumbria scoobs is still here like LADS must be the longest running scoob owners club in the country now.I will agree with you tho that the chocolate engines didnt help as it happens now the classics are going up in price and finding a finding a good one is going to cost so something must be going right for the marquee so keep hold of the green wagon as for me i have been here for an eternity or so it feels having had a few scoobs in the past now itching to keep hold of the track road classic and buying the latest incarnation import lol

Greenwagon is now 17 years and 6 months old and the restoration is bill has gone over 9k now but it doesn't matter
Only comes out for the shows and an occasional Sunday drive and it turns heads due to the rarety value
Although the new Subaru STi is a fine machine I'm still nervous to get another one after the WRXd rebuilt at 42k put me off subarus
But the Greenwagon is an apreciating asset and investment and I'm rather attatched to it
There is just so many performance cars out there at 30-40k that I will be adding to my fleet

Agree with you on that Don but in the early years the SIDC was a real click their national days for example were in the IOM etc etc and their yearly dinner was a bow tie affair at the time the SIDC was the club to be in as there were very few owners clubs about , the SIDC hasn't as far as I'm aware organised any national gathering of the marquee for years, having normal joe blogs buying their imprezas for the first time they couldn't afford the extra expense this has changed over the years as that the price has come down on them and more people can afford them this has been left to independent club organisations to try and arrange national meets like the NBO,SBO and scoobyfest.

SIDC is still a Subaru owners club ( accepted, certainly not like it used to be) attends shows, arranges meetings etc., for its members and is 20 years old this year.

Been on here since I got my first Impreza, around 2002. On my second one now, contemplating a third - going back to a classic?
Come on here maybe once a week now as opposed to once an hour in the early days.

Bought my first Subaru (Hawkeye) in 2007 from main dealers which I owned for 9 years until last year, after owning loads of other Jap & German performance cars. Purchased my FSTI while I still owned my hawk and I still have the FSTI now as my daily. Have no immediate plans to change or leave the Subaru marque.
Joined the forum in 2010 after purchasing something on eBay from TheVoices (funny chap) who urged me to join up.
I'm 41 now and all grown up with 2 kids and other projects in the garage. How times change. I'm not going anywhere, unless IB screw this place up any further.
