Changing to a plastic tank also brings its own downfalls. The pipe connectors arent the strongest and are known to leak.

If I was going to fit the trim as Robsy did, I'd probably look to trim the tank lip down a bit. Without that, you're effectively raising the contact point to the hoses that you're trying not to rub through. Although of course, the trim piece is softer/smoother, its more delaying the issue than solving. Just my 2p worth

The edge trim comes fitted to a new tank complete with turbo return hose, so replacing like for like and thus designed to be fitted - no trimming of lip required.

It shouldn't make any difference to actual airflow because the pipe work is still the same. I did ask the same question before I fitted it. I have always wanted to change it to a k&n but not been able to get hold of one. I'm not a fan of the foam filters the Perrin one was absolutely soaked in oil when I had it. There was even a pool in the bottom of the bag. Even after drying it out and 18 months on the car it was still soaking I think if it had been on a short ram the maff wouldn't have lasted five minutes

Can't really show pictures but oil pressure sensor and gauge working.
having 2 children in the house while the wife works doesn't give much time to work on the car.
Went to make a start on the oil pressure and with half hour it was up and running.

water temp and oil temp to go.

It was a free service, but as the people at photobucket found out free doesn't pay Loool, the easiest way to put pictures up is to press the picture icon and download straight from your computer or press the paper clip looking icon and put the url in direct.SJ.

Another clean. ( Ignore the kids!)

And polish.

Wanted to remove the badges but the tailgate has holes in it that the badge locates in to.

So i painted them black.

the tein coilovers were on the car when i bought it 11/12 years ago, not sure how long they were on prior to that. I've only done around 30,000 miles since ownership.

With lockdown in full swing and 2 children so bored out of their skulls they have started to act up. Knowing it winds us up they seem to be doing it more and more.

With that going on the plan to do both rocker covers went out the window and only did the one.
I'll do the passenger side when they stop being little shots.

Total time it took me, (never done it before but it looked simple enough) was 4hrs.

Wasted 20mins checking a spark plug, dropping the socket and having to take the bottom tray off and then another 40minutes picking the huge amounts of gasket sealer off that the Japanese man left for me.

Really wish I hadn't cut my nails last night!

Hardest part I would say is lowering the cover down without hitting the cam caps or knocking the sealent on anything.

Time to wait and see if I'm sending it to my mechanic to redo 🤣

if you zoom in you'll see it's the thinnest of smears around the top but a little thicker along the bottom.
I also put a tiny smear along the bottom of the head to ensure a tacky stick.
I lined up and pressed on once. Continued to hold until the bolts were in a little.
