For some of the techincal questions it may be useful to set up something that almost works in the same way as a support desk.
A scoobynet member can ask a question which will go into a queue, ready to be addressed either by another member (obviously members would require a special 'status' otherwise everybody would try posting), or the moderator.
If the user (or somebody else with the same/similar question) reads the post and finds it useful they can give the post a rating (1 to 5 stars) depending on how relevant/useful it was.
This could help to reduce the number of duplicate 'What is?' 'How do I ?' 'Where can I ?' type posts.
or maybe not a good idea...just my 2ps worth
Ian.

WTF..!!!!
I cannot believe we now have a DIY forum about household DIY..!!! what the hell is that about... a few people have some poxy diy questions which can be answered by changing rooms and the like...!!! and when people ask about decent forums like car DIY/projects they just say ahhh we will see..!!!
This is called 'SCOOBY'net not 'this is how to change a plug'net....
Why cant we have a forum that has files e.t.c which answer the questions 'what is a dawes' 'who has got an ECU pin out diagram for X car e.t.c as these question are asked all the time and people get sick of answering the same questions but if there was an archive/files forum then people could just look for themselfs..!!!
Oh, one more vote for Mr wallis..!!

sticky classics section yes
not sure about a dedicated projects section as things will still get pushed off the bottom, unless only mods could create new threads.

DIY section sounds excellent to me..
it would be nice to look in there on how to change something for example like the downpipe.. rather than posting a new thread when there must be a few hundred the same on here somewhere in the archieves..

The purpose of the DIY (house) Forum AFAIK was to move alot of the questions out of non scooby related. The DIY Forum campaign had been going for quite a while.
The general consensus of opinion was that it would be good to go directly to a section specifically relted to DIY, as opposed to searching through NSR for some info.
This thread requesting a new forum started on the 13 June this year and stopped on page 3 on the 17 June. I can not understand why, given the major project that was being featured then in Drivetrain.
After david pointed it out yesterday, people have started supporting it, which is great IMO, i just wonder why it stopped so suddenly back then
I really support a Project forum, as David knows, and would love to see one on here.

Ian... if you look at page one of this thread David says that he e-mailed Simon. This was on June 13th.
I must have missed the massive campaign for the house DIY thread then . Having said that i only look in the technical forums (drivetrain, suspension etc), for sale, general and gallery so it wouldn't be hard .
Tony.

Good idea.
Need to have a "sticky, sticky" entry making sure that any lower deck lawyers understand Scoobynet isn't liable for any advice given by the users and that any work done is at your own risk.
Otherwise someone is bound to try it on eventually

Edited for spelling...

A DIY projects forum would be fantastic. Exactly what this place needs.
As Australian as I am, and therefore (meant to be) anti-English, I would much prefer to see such a forum here, than having to use the USA I-Club site for a similar forum ;-)
Adam
(only kidding guys - this site is a much greater source of information than anything Oz has to offer - thanks to all those people who contribute to making it this way)

David Wallis for Moderator
And Yes!!
Would hopefully clear up some threads in Drivetrain/general.. Newbies or people looking for awnswers to modding questions could look in 'projects forum' first??
The RX7 forum i use has a sticky thread at the top which basically asks newbies to read the projects forum before posting... after reading through the projects forum there was at least 10 questions answered for me..
Lecture over, any questions
