Please be more specific because I don't like being insulted.
N Korea's intentions are to develop a nuclear missile that would reach USA. Clearly they are rapidly developing their skills to do that
USA' intentions are to prevent that happening. They have the military capabilities to destroy N Korea or may be just its weapons programme if they so chose.
I sort of assumed that most educated people knew that. Must have got that wrong too

Hi,
News out of Malaysia is suggesting that Kim's half brother was poisoned with VX nerve agent (and that one of the women attackers also fell ill).
This could get a bit interesting now - as the UN define VX as a weapon of mass destruction.
I wonder what the UN (often a seemingly toothless, US biased organisation) will do if this is proven to be VX and state sanctioned/carried out?
Cheers
Steve

Now climate change may do us all in in a couple of hundred years but Kim-Jong-Il, the totally evil b,astard who runs North Korea could well destroy much of the world in the next decade as he develops nukes that may work. He is possibly the only world leader that would be prepared to sacrifice his own country to make a point.
So what should we do about him? The West seems to have kept a lid on Iran's nuclear ambitions and Israel could always step in if Iran breaks too many rules.
A N Korean coup seems unlikely and what a bloodbath that would be. More sanctions just means more starvation to the mass of N Korean citizens and S Korea would be reluctant to take on the might of the N Korean military. Interesting that China supported the recent UN condemnation and may be reluctant to give N Korea much support. Is the US missile defence system fool proof? A US/Japanese/S Korea take over is a big call.
Ideas into suggestion box please before he kills us all.

The UN will do what it always does: nothing effective whatsoever.

Well you're quite right. I wasn't sure about his full name so did quick Google check before I posted and even Wiki had it wrong.
So do you think my error makes the whole tenor of my post invalid? Do you want me to delete it?
Ate you implying that the Kim Jong family are really a bunch of decent chaps or did you just wish to have a cheap meaningless dig at me and why would you want to do that?

And no it was not a meaningless dig as I don't know you either. I was just answering your question as to what I would do.

VX is extremely poisonous.
I reckon there was a very good reason that they needed two women to carry out the attack.
One probably had a cloth with a liquid on it that they rubbed on his face.
The other then probably sprayed a liquid into his face.
Neither chemical would have been particularly poisonous on their own (otherwise the attackers would have died before they got to him!)
It would then have been the combining of the two chemical agents that made the VX (or whatever variant it was) that killed him.
If the above - then quite neat (and worrying!!)
Cheers

Well the whole scenario seems to have got worse with a real chance of Mr Trump pressing the destroy NK button. I genuinely don't understand NK's seeming death wish. Do you?
Perhaps Trump will just stay clear of nukes and use one of his new super bombs as I guess he knows where NK stores and makes its weapons. I also heard that NK's latest rocket test failure might have been caused by a USA cyber attack on the launch programme.
I think if Trump does go for it even China would breath a sigh of relief. Perhaps that was on the agenda at the recent Washington China/USA meeting?
It is a bit worrying though.

I've never quite understood what NK wants. Is its aim to reunify the two sides?
And why has there never been an uprising of any kind?
Personally I think the solution lies solely with China. They have supported NK since the 1950s as they obviously didn't want so much US influence on their doorstep.
But things have moved on, China needs a cordial relationship with the US and Western Europe now in a way it never did in the 1950s. I'm hoping they'll provide the solution.
This may sound mad but perhaps a US condoned Chinese invasion of NK? Better to have the Chinese as neighbours than lil' Kim

It has been proven time and time you take out a mad dictator and another just as bad if not worse comes in or civil war will make it a more dangerous country than it is now.
Every country the US has meddled in in the last 15 years is far worse now than it was. If Sadam was still in power do you really think he would of let IS get as powerful as they are today.

North Korea is a totally different scenario to any middle eastern country.
If the diabetic ridden ugly little runt with a funny haircut was assassinated the army leaders would be running around like headless chickens.
The regime is so totalitarian that nobody would be likely to put themselves forward as a new leader.
Similar situation when Stalin died. The Soviets hadn't a clue what to do and his death was only formally announced days later.
With the despot out of the way a unification with South Korea is very likely.
