So
Wi-Fi calling is on ( to prop up atrocious "service" provided by Vodafone).
In range of Wi-Fi , but no calls coming through.
Totally worse than having no phone at all.
Only answer is to sell phone to recoup the next 9 month line rental

Good plan. Then go to a service provider that works well in your area, it's an ever changing market. Luckily you're not left holding some piece of junk so you might have enough change to get yourself the latest iPhone. Win win.

Right
Conclusive proof
It's ************ vodafone. Tried EE pay as you go SIM and even in the basement I'm getting calls.
I doubt I'll get anything back off voda though.

Also . Is it just the case that texts from Android phones on 3g are simply not going to arrive on iPhone using Wi-Fi.
( Until iPhone Wi-Fi is switched off)

I had an Android phone which made a sort pathetic click, for want better explanation, when it tried connect a call
This iPhone is doing the same ( and then again when it says failed to connect)
It also alternates alarmingly between what is apparently full signal ( 5 bars), and No service
But apparently there's nothing wrong with it, genius said

Seriously , am i the only one on here with an 6s that has wildly inconsistent call quality connection ??
iv swapped networks and its the same ,albeit i get voicemail sooner ( and actually get voicemail) - but calls still take forever and dont get through frequently - made and received
I'm just going to have to purchase another interim phone to test to my satisfaction , which i REALLY was trying to avoid
its spookily looking like karma , for dissing apple for so long

Jack , I thought it was purely apple idea - but its not
I'm still peeved this phone misses out internet connection or near as dammit ( gprs ! ) in places 3g hasn't been problem before

It's certainly not only Apple and they were not the first, but it's implementation is way ahead of anything else available.
No comfort but different devices will perform differently in differing locations, your device will be better than others in other locations but as your bad location is at your house it's going to be annoying.

Does this sound right ? maybe iv got a setting wrong
the phone will switch between 5 bars showing and nothing in the blink of an eye
when I leave wifi , go to shops it obviously goes to 3g - and then I discover iv a voicemail
which is still a bitch to pick up , dial twice ( first time call failed ) and then wait a while
And all this with NO record of call at all in recent calls ??!!

So bought 50 quid android out curiosity
It receives calls straight away on mobile network in the house . To perform this trick I would have put iPhone on WIFI calling
On my boat ( can be dodgy signal) iPhone has desperate time trying get 3g signal and internet is dog slow . Iv turned 4g on /off - turned off it gets zero
android phone - no problem
Nothing wrong with iPhone hardware though - genius told me
