Hmmm - OK, well mine's not totally standard. Internals-wise, it is, but I've also done the following to it:
- Cosworth panel filter
- 440cc injectors
- Ported manifold
- Harvey up-pipe
- Silicone Y-pipe
- 3" downpipe with 200 cell cat
- 2.5" stainless exhaust mid section and silencer
- 3 port boost control solenoid
Maybe I should be seeing more....

Blowing exhaust won't help either.
In Duncans defence, I can see why with a blowing exhaust ond maybe some other small problems why he's not spent the time on it to stretch every last bit out of it, If I were doing it on a car with problems I'd just make it safe and tell him to book back in for a tweak when all the problems are solved and the car is in good shape to be looking for that "last bit"
Better safe than sorry.

Sport cat will be what's holding it back a little. I's a case of do you want the hastle come mot time for the sake of 10bhp.

The confusion has come from the quote you were replying to suggesting 270HP+ should have been attainable and mentioning the sports cat (plus other mods) which was aimed at my car, not the OP's which has a fully de-catted, but blowing exhaust...
The OP hasn't had his car mapped yet. He was enquiring about Duncan and I simply posted to say that I'd had mine mapped by Duncan last month and gave details when people asked and has now somehow morphed into yet another "have a go at Duncan" thread.
The only problem Duncan had with my car was a vacuum hose that had gone brittle and blew off during the mapping session. It took less than 5 minutes to identify and resolve.

He later mentions his blowing up pipe - "Has a slight leak on the up pipe so wondering if that's the cause of the fluctuation?" Post 35
PPPPPPP
"Recently had a remap on a blobeye Impreza. Has a couple of mods.
Fully de cated (2.5" I believe)
Miltek exhaust
Sti TMIC
NGK PFR6B spark plugs
Lightened pulleys
Walbro 255 fuel pump
Ramair foam air filter
Remap was done on a rolling road and only made 272bhp.
Always run on Tesco 99 Ron.
From the tuning guide I've read I should have expected around 280-290 bhp.
Any ideas why the short fall in power?
Cheers"

YES @ @ditchmyster read the thread properly!!!
Dynamite Dunx didn't map the OP's car
Nor did the OP have a sportscat

Matty81 dont bother taking it to tdi, they are not a subaru specialist and may not be able to tune your car to how you would like it.
I have had my car tuned by Duncan for 4 years now, currently running 436 bhp, 385 torque, completely standard internals, just bolt on parts with 20% methanol mix, has run superbly well with no issues, for 20,000 miles.
Lots of launches as i do like a blat up the 1/4, fastest time currently is a 12.14 @ 113 mph, i am close to Lakeside at times, so if you fancy a test drive of how my car is, im more than happy to meet up.
Duncan has alot of haters on this forum, dont let them make a decision for you, i know its good to ask the question, but most of these people have probably never actually used duncan or had there cars mapped by him, they have heard stories, and feel the need to jump on a band wagon to belittle him and how he maps.
I too have heard stories of engines going bang, and bad mapping from every single tuner that have been mentioned on these forums, and yes they include RCM ,Scooby Clinic, Engine Tuner,Bob Rawle, Zen, etc etc etc
Its your money, YOUR decision, pros and cons where ever you go IMO.

Thanks for the info bud. Had a look on tdi and they do specialise in subaru's reading their website. Won't be until next year though, so a while for me to decide where I'm gonna go.

On the bog.
Clearly a Internet Troll.
Listen to him at your peril.
I have nothing to add, you have nothing valuable to say. I have no interest in you or any further comments you may add on any subject. Ciao.

There have been a failures with JGM, but most were kept quiet.
He always had 'tweeking' days up our way, every other month or so. He charged £150 for a tweek and was doing 8-10 in 5 or 6 hours. Then 2 months later the same lads were paying for another tweek , surely if it was mapped well and within its limits, it wouldn't need tweeking every 2 months
When I first bought an Impreza 8 years ago I wanted it remapping, I nearly didn't have it done because I thought it would need a £150 tweek every 2 months to keep it running right

My car was mapped 4 times by Simon because of different stages of tune. Never needed a "tweek". Had the car mapped at SRR, Area 52 and Scooby World. I didn't travel there from Glasgow for no reason
Did Simon ever map your car?
