The studio bits are utter Sh1te. Conversation street is badly scripted and boring.
Either talk about new cars coming out, or drop the link. The race was good, as always.

Whoever thinks it will change is deluded really, they have a winning formula,
Its proven, it will be as close as they legally can be to TG, it is what people have watched for over the decades, and why they were offered the BIG bucks to make it,
it isnt like Fifth gear, and that didnt work on a large scale, so why would TGT change things and loose viewers,
I genuinely think some just chirp up to see their name on the screen at times.

I actually prefer the new Top Gear, and look forward to it starting up again in a couple weeks.
Last couple weeks of TGT have been hit and miss. Last weeks was ok, but the week before was gash.

Watched the new Top Gear.
They are still hanging on to the old ideas and it really seems dated and stilted IMHO. I think Clarkson et al, even though using similar format , make a program that is far more enjoyable and impressive.
Wanted to like the new Top Gear but they need new writers!

Think they have. Richard Porter wrote the scripts for Old Top Gear, and he's now writing for TGT.
So unless he's doing both, there should be new writers on TG. Though, not sure if Porter was there for the last TG series?

They have a new script editor now, Sam Philip.
Can't remember if RP was doing TG last year.
Have you ever read RP's column in evo mag? Hilarious bloke.

It will be back.
It's head and shoulders above Top Gear as a car show worth watching

I disagree. I enjoyed Top Gear tonight. I thought it was really well done focusing on Japan... a lot of great stuff for petrol heads. It seems like there’s a real chemistry starting to form between the presenters too, almost like the old Top Gear years ago. Definitely gets my vote!

I agree on the Japan side
I'm not going to knock it too much.
All I want is good car shows on TV

Chris is/was fab on You Tube but still not convinced about him on TG. MLB seems to work well. Rory is annoying.
JC, RH & JM for the next series of TG for me Can’t see the Beeb ever backing down though

Wouldn't say it's hilarious, but it is amusing.
His book "And on that Bombshell" on Top Gear was really good though. funny, while giving insight into the show.

Don't know how many more series of top gear will be filmed at the famous track. The go ahead has been given for a housing estate to be built on it. I live fairly local and it's been on the cards for a while. Ive driven around the perimeter road quite a few times, while filming has been going on, and been lucky enough to drive an aventador around the track, amongst other things.
Even played a football match there, used to be a football pitch on one of the grass sections in the middle of the track, but that was early 90's so the track was not there then!
