TGT
He lost his three year fight with cancer on Saturday morning.
My brother told me yesterday he watched tgt episode 2 with his eldest son, who it has probably impacted the most. It made them both laugh.
I watched it last night. Yes, it is staged and scripted but it always was (in TG form), but it was funny and it made me laugh too.
So, in a time of great upset, to just be able to forget about the world for an hour and be entertained, cheered up a little, I think the show is priceless.
I thought the second episode was great; better than the first with amazing car stuff (Aston Martin Vulcan) and some Special Forces nonsense that was very funny. Definitely looking forward to the next episode.
i think it may well been worth 80 quid for the reaffirmation that the Nissan joke is indeed the most ridiculous populist car ever built
I think its the interspersed more subtle humour that ultimately makes it worth turning in ( and always has been)

Well ep3 was an improvement over ep2, still cack though and they should have scrapped the celebrity death thing, it was slightly funny in the 1st ep, but don't do it in every ep, cringe city and so much fail.
I've just watched the 2nd episode and thought the special forces part was hilarious, far funnier than anything on Top Gear for a long time.
The American doing the driving though is pure cringe, can't stand that part of the show, is he really the best they could come up with?!
And WRXrowdy sorry about your loss, very tough times

Have to agree: I guess he's supposed to appeal to an international audience but I doubt he will. A grumpy fat Yank doesn't appeal to anyone surely?
Problem is the best they could come up with was the Stig (I believe it was widely admitted after the whole thing with Perry Mccarthy) and the BBC still owns the rights to that one.
Hammond is really getting on my **** now, he thinks he's some kind of comedian, but he's never funny, just annoying and was never that good at being a journalist either.

Compared to?
Let me quantify that.
Emmerdale?
5th Gear?
Midsomer Murders?
Roadkill?
I'm a Celebrity?
Project Binky?
Bake off?
Guy Martin?
The context of alternatives to watch don't amount to much. So for me TGT isn't at the top of the list, but it far exceeds the entertainment value of the dirge shown on mainstream BBC and ITV.
