Not going to dare to start a full scale debate on here have a search and make up your own mind. Just make sure its a good brand. Or ask the oilman on here.

Get mine from opie oils. Always helpful with good advice get all my fluids from there. I'm using millers cfs 10w 50, he's got eBay shop too and is one of if not cheapest on there. If not sure what oil give him a ring and he'll sort you out. As matey said, oil can be a debate so let opie know wat u got, mileage, state of tune, useage etc. and just go with that.

Nice one getting it sorted OP!

I think there was some confusion in the thread with cranking/turning over terminology.

I misunderstood it when you said it would not turn over, as in the starter motor could not/would not crank the engine, hence I thought the problem was electrcial rather than a physical obstruction in the engine as you said it would turn over by hand.

So am I right in thinking the engine did crank over/turn over with the starter motor but would not fire and idle?

It wouldn't turn over by starter wouldn't even try to fire up but would turn by hand wasn't easy tho. after striping down and re fitting started fine no problems was a strange one I've never heard it before
