Just want to say thanks for the advice so far guys.

Other than 2 piece discs (and I know the Godspeed won't be quite as good as PF) what methods do people use to cool Brembos? I imagine ducting would help but not sure where it would fit?

I already posted that too

Good quality fluid will withstand higher temperatures

2 piece discs

Decent pads with a better operating temperature window

Ducting could help and usually from the foglight blanks etc

Sorry I am on my phone and it's being a bitch so didn't go back to re read.

I'd quite like to fit a cold air feed to the engine bay once I stick an intake on so that's left me wondering whether ducting from there would still be possible. It won't be easy, I suspect.

Fluid and hoses are covered.

If you have less braking torque the brakes are not as effective.

The reason why brembos fail or are not up to scratch is because they are a white alloy and suffer majorly with heat. With big cast rotors, alloy calipers etc the caliper acts as a heat soak which in turn heats the fluid and induces fade.

However with effective heat management they are better than most of the other calipers put there.

The only advantage with k sports etc is better heat disappation, so they will manage the temperature better, but you will have overall less braking torque. However you can lean on them harder for longer...

The downsides with cheap brake kits like k sports, they sucker you in with cheap initial costs, then when you need spares its almost as expensive as buying another whole kit.... they also mainly lack dust seals and some other important parts... You will find that on 8 pots etc the front on the pad wears alot faster than the rear due to the lay out of the pistons it is not possible to get full braking torque on the full face of the pad.

Here are how others have tackled cooling for their brakes,it might give you some ideas of how to go about things....

Performance Friction two piece disc set up are Superb I was using them around 10 years ago now and would not flinch to buy them again,in fact when my Ap disc need changing I will be having a chat with Alyn of ASPerformance and going PF disc for my Ap caliper set up.Ian's (Godspeed) brake disc work very well also and with his no quibble warranty would be a worthy purchase.SJ.

They look great. Stop with 600 quid thing though, I already said I'd happily spend a lot more if the right brakes came up!

I almost bought a godspeed brembo set up.

Monoblock 4 pots with 330mm 2 pekce discs etc for 950. Seems like a good deal!

What's the benefit of those over the oem ones?

Busta, I've seen those kits. I may go for one in the future I just have to balance it up against the other bits the car needs currently. That's why I'd rather not spend £1500 just now

Still need to sort some of the bushes out, get some better ARBs, harnesses, seat rails etc. etc. It's going to take time to get it all together.

In theory better heat disappation as they are bigger than oem and been monoblock they technically flex less as they are one peice not 2 peices bolted together!!!

I bet you there not. Removed from an ra-r and sat in japan. I've been selling calipers for a very very long time.

But thank you for your assumption

They are infact brembos, just the 6 pot type. Similar set up used on the skylines I believe R34/R35.

But your correct about the price. Highly inflated. Years back, some full sets were being off loaded at $9000+. People with more money than sense, actually bought them.

Looking at that Godspeed kit, I reckon the calipers from a Clio RS200 are the same.

My advice would be if you cant afford APs atm is to get cl rc6 and some genuine brembo discs onto your current brembod. they have a better grey iron metal in them (1 piece) to save spending x amount.
This set up is actually tried n tested by me on a blob wagon and i can garuntee you won't fade them.
Rc6 about £150 ish and brembo discs around £100-£200.
I know they are 1 piece discs but i never faded them.
Or if you're keeping set up then get pads like xp10s as said above with dba slotted 2 piece discs.

Well I think the Brembos are angry at me. I fitted my hoses last night and the very last bleed nipple sheared clean off FFS. Almost all of them were an absolute pig to loosen or tighten back up too.
