well one end of the kit( yellow wire say) you connect your tester( battery and bulb or buzzer will work) to one end and at the other test each connection, obviously you want the bulb /buzzer to indicate the circuit is complete,
test each of the wires one at a time.

Have you got a spare W5 bulb you can use to test this lead ?
if so unwind the coiled wire that normally fits in the socket, you will then be left with a bulb and 2 pig tails,
If your kit is wired in and the keys on your lap touch 1 pigtail to the perm and 1 to the earth, obviously you would like the bulb to illuminate, now turn Ign on and touch 1 pigtail to the Ign part and again earth part, again light should come on.

You underestimate my luck with everything, this one will work .. I just need to work out what I've done wrong.. will test the points tomorrow with a meter and if still no luck replace the cable (carefully).

I was doing a good job took, all cables under the roof lining with no bulging or damage, perfect ..

You can normally feel if it snags when you pull it in,

Ok so multi meter saved the day.

It was a combination of the camera delaying before going into parking (as it should) and the temp power to certain fuses after the engine is turned off. Creates a longer delay which I wasn't waiting for.

30 seconds it took to resolve with the meter.

Thanks for the support mate.

if you look thru the circle in the front map light pod you will see the spade connections I mentioned (saves fishing down to the fuse box),
The trim on the rear tailgates are a PITA to get off without damage, so you took the right route there.

Nice install

I went a different route, Galaxy S7 edge, autoboy app and car phone holder for screen.

Magnetic bumper sign saying '360 Dash Cam!'

I've read the app can crash during calls and texts and basically make it useless?

This is spare phone from Hongkong, so not using it as mobile, just a camera. Its the dual sim version btw. Will get a dedicated 360 system when 4k large aperture systems become common place
