So Brexit seems to be a good thing then.

Time to start ejecting dissenters, this is much bigger than party politics

It will need more than just a gagged cabinet to get it to succeed. Labour and looking likely a big chunk of back bench Tories to oppose it. Lots of rewording will be needed to convince

After the Chequers summit, it emerged that Johnson had referred to attempts to sell the prime minister’s Brexit plan as ‘polishing a turd’.

no deal was always on the cards whilst Brexidiots kept spinning the line that we could have all the benefits of EU membership "Pick n mix" without any of the costs - based on "they need us BMW Prosecco blah blah blah"

as the EU said when the Chequers plan was announced

“We have been telling the UK for two years that we would not accept a single market a la carte.

“What do they come with? – A single market a la carte.”

Yes I agree.

The current crisis in our government probably puts some pressure on the EU to look more favourably at the current proposal though. They must be fearing 'no deal' too.

As for Johnson, well he's just 'on manoeuvres', as per usual!

At least Johnson now accepts Brexit is a turd!

I doubt there are enough Brexit supporters in the conservative party to force a leadership contest and I don't think anyone would want to take over the job until after Brexit is done anyway!

I suspect May will now pursue cross party support for a soft Brexit so she doesn't require the Tory Brexiteer support. The vast majority of parliament would support remaining in the customs union. I would expect we'll be heading for something between the Norwegian and Swiss deals. If the EU are feeling generous, we may get some restrictions to freedom of movement.

Johnson is a lying, two-faced, scheming manipulative ****. And those are the only good points I can think of right now.

God help us all if he ever got to be PM.

Remember, this is the man who only decided at the very last moment which side he would campaign for in the EU referendum!

Thanks Cameron for this utter fukcing mess. We are now almost certain to end up with the worst of both worlds.

And what's the alternative to all this?... Jeremy friggin Corbyn! I could cry.

The people who voted for leaving can have all the rope they wish to hang themselves with. I just want the freedom of movement to stay in place. Avoids me, and my daughter, having to take a different nationality.

White paper detail when published, either EU reject or try and water it down, in which case the tory back benchers will reject it in a vote. Labour already have said they will reject the current proposal.

May will then be faced to completely revamp the white paper or abdicate her position

The majority view is that Brexit is a complete ****-up but the idiots in power think "soon-to-be-dead-Doris" and "uneducated-Dave" are far more important than the good of the nation

It may be temporary suicide...… she may lose the next election but when the oldies are finally dead then the younger generation who massively voted to stay would not forget and she (or whoever else) can run on "I put you first and made us stay". I am sure they would be back in power with a huge win. But this is the real problem with politicians only caring about their own need to be important rather than what is best for the future of the country
