So Brexit seems to be a good thing then.

if this is true, then Boris is the worlds biggest donkey for not stating it in the election manifesto and, it is hilarious if they did block it.

Andy, you are whipping a dead horse. Even the UKs own lawyers have advised the government not to implement it into legislation as it will go against a signed treaty/law. But I suppose you know better than than all the governmental and non-governmental lawyers.
Northern Ireland Secretary Brandon Lewis admitted in parliament it will break international law. The permanent secretary to the Government Legal Department, Sir Jonathan Jones (UK governments most senior lawyer) resigned as it breached the governments obligations under international law.

The Lords will not vote down the UK internal market bill again. If they do, parliament will implement the Parliament Act

A huge part of me honestly feels like the EU should walk away, just to let the UK really understand that their actions have consequences. I am cutting a pasting a message from a mate on a whatsapp thread. Guys misses has a company and they get delivers from China.....
"Most things come by sea but beginning to see delays at ports because of brexit. Last delivery got dropped off in Rotterdam as ship couldn’t cope with the delays at Felixstowe"
Brexit rules have not started yet but this is the consequence already. Also now he has to find a way to get it into the UK. To combat this they now ordered a years supply. That is a lot of money to be locked up in the supply chain, plus extra warehousing costs etc

The New Silk Road probably not going to make it across the channel either , unless Boris has more plans up his sleeve ......
brexit never designed to make us all better off of course

Why under current legislation does stuff like this keep landing on UK shores?
I’d rather we stay in the EU, but first and foremost as a consumer I want them be it UK or EU to properly sanction China for allowing export of goods clearly not fit for export to the EU and/or UK. None of this stuff complied with any western electrical/consumer standard including USA, Australia, Canada, Japan etc.
Non compliant plug
No IEC markings on cable
No CE markingsZ
Just like the “CE” marked masks I bought which were full of holes and clearly not CE as they didn’t have any EU conformity certification.
We shouldn’t be relying on trading standards, the public or even the retailer for knowing what makes a product conform or not and whether any conformity is actually forged or counterfeit...often requiring destructive testing to find out. Which isn’t practical as if the first batch is ok, who is to say the second or third batch/shipment will be? That’s probably how I ended up with above; First shipments were ok...this shipment they’ve switched it for something else. That fraud has been carried out at the export end, not import.
I’d have a more support for any political party that addresses issues like these with proper gusto and sanctions/penalties. Not the likes of Doris and the illusive Captain Hindsight.

I clearly remember Challenge Anneka back in the late 80’s doing up a orphanage there and showing how terrible conditions were. We were told that part of Romania’s entry to the EU was to deal with this.
Yet 30years later little appears to have changed in Romania we we are now told of children being sex trafficked and the UK as well as the rest of Europe just lets it carry on.
Shameful. The UK could do more.

I probably could google the UKIP leaflet from when that happened.
FWIW I used to live near a small town called Lye in the west midlands where this has been going on for quite some time.

Although Albanians are involved here...but they have EU passports. Work that one out.

Bit different when you see happen with own eyes though in such a blatant manner. This problem exploded in this area about 6 years ago after Romania’s restrictions were relaxed under the 2+3+2 clause.
Fact of the matter is we have a welfare system that encourages it and a policing system that is overwhelmed by other duties so neglects it.
But importantly why did MEPs not further delay Romania’s accession or extend the 2+3+2 ruling until it got its own social issues in better order? Part of the joining criteria was to close the orphanages and to ban the overseas/foreign adoption policies that was allowing children to be ‘legally’ adopted overseas by child/sex/labour exploitation gangs. Since 2014 it didn’t get better, it became widespread.
In Lye I can collate independent accounts of the situation that isn’t properly reported in MSM and how it’s affected neighbouring areas due to crime levels (One reason why I moved away). It still persists to be a terrible state of affairs that no politician be it British or European wants to address.

Something tells me the government want this to be a total fiasco for some reason, I can't believe so many people in power can be so completely inept.

Sunaks planning yesterday was also based on the UK having a comprehensive free trade deal with the EU!
I suspect it will be the UK that will be folding at the 11th hour, although no doubt they'll sell it as the EU give in as usual
They won some plus points with the Gammons yesterday by cutting the foreign aid budget though, so they can maybe get away with looser border controls now

Boris really is the dillusional moron. He is the sort of guy who spends 1k pounds at a casino. Wins 10 pounds on the last role of the wheel and leaves the building shouting "I won, I won!"
