If the EU accept this deal, then that is it. We either leave with this deal or no-deal. The EU won't delay any further as there is a deal on the table which has been accepted.

Parliament has yet to accept this deal...so a possible outcome is that Brexit is canned in favour of another vote. No extension required in that instance...this is far from resolved.

Peons like us (well me for sure) will have to see how this is played out; we have no influence at this time.

I think if Parliament does not accept it, then the default position is to leave without a deal.
The EU have given the date of Oct 31st - the UK can't just can it.

The only thing we can do is ask for an extension - but what reason will the EU have to grant it? - there is deal on the table - take it or leave it.

Brexit can be revoked though...sold as the only alternative to economic suicide (no deal), so the only recourse. With a new vote with greater granularity thrown in to sedate both sides? Meanwhile Boris is still getting ready for the nex GE as the hero of brexit, regardless of whether it’s delivered or he is ‘thwarted’? Cummings plan...gawd knows.

we will all just have to wait and see.

Yep I agree, I see no alternative outcome other than leaving on 31st with no deal, which is exactly what Boris wants anyhow.

The deal will get rejected, request for extension will be denied and we will leave with no deal. Simple yet devastating for our country IMO.

I suspect parliament might just accept this deal, all depends on how many Labour MPs rebel and vote for it!

One way to definitely get it through parliament would be to tie it to a referendum, then it depends what the options are - Deal/No Deal or Deal/Remain or Deal/No Deal/Remain

A senior EU official said this morning: "We were told in 2018 by the UK government that the ratification process takes six months, at the beginning of 2019 we were told that it takes six weeks, and the latest is that a few days is more than enough."

i doubt it, will be a vote for this or its no deal, they have already been queing up to say they wont acept it.

He'll then send letter asking as per legal requirements and junker will respond saying no and no deal gets it.

it's pretty clear thats what will happen now.

So pausing Brexit based on a poll result, with one possible outcome being accept the current deal...sounds plausible.

Except that it's not Junker who decides whether the EU agrees to an extension or not...

They want to put pressure on the parliament to vote for the deal, so they're not going to say we can extend at the moment. They will extend our it gets voted out though as there now has to be an election.

No. They will certainly not apply pressure.
The EU will not do Boris's job for him. If parliament doesn't vote for the deal they will extend.
Remember; the best outcome for the EU is that the UK holds a third referendum, votes to remain and doesn't leave.

Although Juncker said there was no need for an extension, it is not within his power to prevent one, that will be for the EU27 leaders to decide, and no deal is not in their interests. Germany alone is estimated at 100,000 job losses in no deal.

To be honest, I think most of the hard-core Brexiteers are more about the market volatility that Brexit creates and makes them richer than any actual Brexit plan. The longer they can drag on the uncertainty, then the longer they can exploit the market volatility!

Agreed.

These people won't be touched by any economic fall out as they are rich...great opportunity to make more money though.

So why did Boris pull the vote on the deal?

All the amendment did was to ensure we don't crash out on the 31st in case there are delays approving the legislation. They could have still voted on the deal and got all the legislation passed on time and leave on the 31st.

This delay is now in Boris' hands, Brexteers can't put this delay on remainers!

But they will of course...

This may be part of the Cummings plan to try and force a no deal exit?
