So Brexit seems to be a good thing then.
Can't really believe this is going to happen ..!

I cannot believe that the politicians of this country have sunk to this level.
It beggars belief that the UK, which has been held up as one of _THE_ examples of parliamentary democracy for many, many years, has come to this. This is what I'd expect a banana republic president to do, not the PM of the United Kingdom.
Even if the move is not _technically_ undemocratic, morally it most certainly is, and no matter what side of the Brexit argument we are on, surely we must be able to agree that this is a highly questionable move?

I agree. They are not technically breaking the law or doing anything undemocratic by just sitting on their hands and waiting for a no deal to happen, but it's morally wrong and very questionable indeed.
They will be using the law to swing the decision in their favour regardless of the preferred outcome.

This is true.
Personally I voted remain, but doesn't matter now, the majority wanted out.
For me now, I just want to see it over and done with at this stage, so let get TF out, because I'm sick and tired listening to the whole ******* carry on now between those ball bag politicians in Westminster.

A very cynical part of me thinks some of the delays have been strategic to allow the country to absorb the shocking referendum result and accept whatever the end scenario may be. I recon a lot of the country are past being angry with the decision and just want to get on with things like we do, so the government by delaying things have just got the country to back whatever happens when we do leave.
You remoaners still at it
I knew it would be frothing in here after today's news. Boris has done exactly what he should be doing, getting on and delivering Brexit and doing what he can to stop remoaners from preventing what was democratically voted for. The fact it has enraged Corbyn makes it all the sweeter

Leaving the EU was voted for and that's what Boris is trying to ensure happens. Not the remoaners version which is endlessly going back and forth arguing and never actually agreeing anything and not leaving which is exactly what they wanted.
Bad news for me who buy 90% of my Subaru parts from the UK. I guess I have to add 25-28% (VAT and customs) on all prices from now on, like I have to do on parts from the US etc.
ICP has been the best but now I can just as well order directly from Japan (Amayama.com)

As for the Irish border. There won't be a hard border for gods sake, so stop the scaremongering Dublin.
Today will be interesting in Westminster , Corbyn's head gasket might go

I have a British and a German passport so Brexit is no longer an issue for me, I will just drive to England on my British pasport and get scoobyclinic to fix my car then drive back to Europe on my German passport
So, in the event of no deal, how will the Irish gov maintain the integrity of the EU single market and customs union without one? The GFA was only possible because our membership of the EU meant no border.

Sugests your assumption is wrong, although no idea if actual rules have been published yet.
I'm hearing that ports can perform additional checks, which in the event of no deal don't have to be that much different than they are now.
From a hardware point of view, where are they going to put these hard border checkpoints?
Are they really going to cover all 300 miles of the border?
There will be houses/farms etc all along the border, what will they do there, compulsory purchase order to take the land, force "Sally" to move?
Who will pay for it, who will police it?

In Turbovins case, he is importing parts from the UK into the EU and the EU external tariffs will definitely apply. So for him, it makes no sense to buy parts from the UK when he can get the same parts direct from Japan with the same import tariffs, although the tariffs on imports from Japan to the EU will be removed in the near future under their new trade deal. So basically, that's lost business for UK suppliers of Japanese parts.
I don’t think anyone would of cared if we left the EU if all the pre election promises were met and now Boris’s trump card of not paying the divorce bill is also in tatters as the EU is going to take it as a state debt default which means the whole world will punish us .

Period, if we leave with no deal, clearly we have no transition - hence no payments
This is basic stuff and the EU will not press for transitional payments where none is due
But if we start bull****ting "gypsy / traveller / pikey" styley over the agreed framework for the rest of the monies owed
Expect us to be treated like a "pikey" by the international community
