EU: The deal is done, there is no more negotiating!
UK: Can we renegotiate the deal?
EU: The deal is done, there is no more negotiating!

Shock horror, they won't re-negotiate!

Prophecy 1: No deal is better than a bad deal! --- FALSE
Prophecy 2: The EU need us more than we need them --- FALSE
Prophecy 3: Countries are queuing up to give us great trade deals --- ???

...they are queuing up to give great trade deals to the EU though!

I've been warning about that since before the Brexit vote. EU's answer to ESTA in USA or ETA in Canada/Australia. Designed to tighten the borders in the Schengen area and cut down the number of illegal immigrants and over-stayers. €7 for application (under 18's are free). It will be valid for 3 years or until the passport expires and can be used for travel duration of maximum 90 days in any 180 day period - longer and you need a visa, which is a PITA for retired people with holiday homes who like to spend longer than 3 months away!

Generally, its not such a big deal, but it will catch a lot of people out who forget to renew it. Also just like ESTA/ETA there will be some dodgy online agents who will perform the application for you for a massive fee!

Gone will also be the days where you can pop across the channel and fill you car up with booze. Leaving the customs union means the same strict duty-free limits you have from the rest of the world. Forget filling your suitcase with cheap **** on holiday!

I have said it before.....if we leave the EU and the UK suffers extreme loss then the politicians who orchestrated it and oversaw it should be charged with a crime of knowingly sabotaging the UK or acting in a manner against its interest. We vote in these clowns to ensure the future and prosperity of the nation and to protect us against rash, crazy decisions.

And you'll lose the EHIC so no insurance won't be an option.

I distinctly remember that the leave figureheads said that we'd not need a visa etc to travel in Europe after Brexit. Seems it was probably just another lie.

On the other hand, for me it doesn't matter anymore. I've applied for dual citizenship, so I will still have rights on both sides of the channel, but it must be sucky for e.g the Brits who work abroad.

Don't forget also to round up the gurning cheerleading Brexiteer c**ts who think that real-terms increases of 15% in the cost of living are all a bit of a wheeze. They should be first in the stocks on every public square up and down the country.

Of course the amount is paltry, costs more to go to US, Turkey etc, but that is not the point. It's just another thing that we didn't have to do. Leave said we would have no issues, with anything......... They all stack up, lots of little things add up to a pain in the ****, for nothing.

How much did you pay for dual nationality? I bet I could have many travel visas for the same cost

Reality is, its peanuts in cost

Coming from someone who's openly stated that a 15% real-terms increase in the cost of living is a price the peasants are just going to have to suck up, in order that the Holy Grail of Brexit be achieved, such glib dismissals don't really carry a lot of weight.

About 1800 all said and done.

I obviously didn't get myself dual citizenship just because of travel visas, in fact it didn't even figure in my mind.

I went for it as my kids have dual citizenship already, and I've been in the UK for 17 years now, and it feels like home, so morally speaking I should be British so I can vote etc.

Despite all assurances from May and the rest of the cabinet, I dont trust her or the government enough to not protect myself from a bad Brexit as much as I can. I see it as a cheapish insurance policy (compared to the possible downsides).

Didnt you read that wages of hospitality workers have risen very recently. I wonder why, maybe because of the decision to leave the EU?

Wages of the lowest being suppressed by over supply, of labour from the EU

Leave.EU posted a video today of their protest (of a handful of people) on Westminster bridge....

only they are blocking an ambulance getting through! This is the mentality of leave supporters, trying to copy the French right wing radicals with yellow vests!

Mmmm, hardly a massive effect is it? It also appears that non EU immigration which is running higher now then EU immigration has bigger effect on wages decrease. Oh dear, another Brexit fail.
