Of course Booze and hookers should be added to the list for memories as your sitting dribbling and waiting TI die in your OAP home

I honestly don't think that standard classic Subaru's are doing that well. Yeah they just about hold value but I still think there's that imagine problem, still!

What about spread betting as a way to generate an extra income? No Capital Gains or tax that have to be paid however i've heard it can be very risky as you can lose a lot of money within seconds.

Agreed, the only Scoob that seems to really have gone up in value is the 22b. The other variants are probably a bit too niche to gain any real value.

Though if your looking for cars to make a quick buck on, a Makkinen Evo looks like a reasonable punt if you buy sharpish.

Nissan Skyline R32 GTR's

I honestly think a lot of folk will be kicking themselves in years to come for not investing.

I can't see any reason why R32 GTR's won't blow RS 500 prices into the weeds! They are far more car apart from the fact they are world renowned and people will get very interested in them in years to come!

Wish I had the finances and space to store a couple of minters!

People already are (getting very interested), early R32s are now old enough to fall under EPA exemption in the states. So prices are already on the up as the Yanks are now buying them.

No reason why exceptional examples won't be £100k IMO. There's been an RS500 at that money and it's not in the same legendary league worldwide.

Might be worth investing in Tesla shares at the moment as well, looking pretty low after some bad news but once that's blown over they'll no doubt be a good profit in month or two.

I think you're wrong, 3/4yrs ago Type R's and RA's were going for £3/4k now they are double that which represents a 100% increase not many investments give that sort of return in 3yrs, even standard UK Classics are on the up They were as little as £5/800 now you won't see a half decent one for less than £3.5k so again massive return in percentage turms.

If you have the space there aren't many things better than old cars for doubling your money in a relatively short space of time, any of the well liked old Jap cars are pretty much a dead cert to make you a few quid and something like a Subaru with the Rally pedigree and being WORLD renowned is always going to command strong money, not just on our little island but mainland Europe and the US too, which imo is the key to real pennies.

My garage been doing mechanical on 1960 example. Saw it today , worth 85 k now double that after bodywork etc tarted up

if you're decent with the tools, invest in a small workshop and buy non runners/classics and restore them. time spent fixing them up isnt too boring, isnt risky, and the reward is the fat profit you get when you sell. PLus it hones your skills and theres no rush to sell for a cheap price - you can drive it in the meantime!

Vans / commercial sell well

I got a ka van few months ago at auction for a laugh , I had a tip run of garden waste that weekend but Friday night with a dealer Friend he didn't buy but I did ....190 quid on a white dirty ka van !! It was filth but he drove it back on his trade plates for me ,
Did 3 tip ruNs in it . Insured for the year £80

Cheap eBay alloys £50
Fiesta st seats £50
Carpet dye and plasti dip trim £20
Mot £50
Painted calipers £5
Stereo and a sub / amp £50

Sold it for £900 without trying

Think that boats already sailed.

Mind you new Porsches could be an investment if you've got the money. Take the Cayman GT4, £65k when new and you won't find one on AutoTrader now for less than £85k. I make that approximately a 33% return on investment, which is bloody good going.
