Well Mourinho has just put a full strength side out for a league cup game lol, the mind boggles. How he's expecting a 35 year old striker to play twice in such a short space of time is anyone's guess, he cant even run around at any sort of real pace for 90 mins never mind for 2 games in a few days. It's a good job that West Ham are mainly playing kids, that way some of our joe average players will get the chance to look like world beaters.

It shows desperation putting a full team out in this comp when 90% of premier league teams use this comp to give the whole squad some game time, so how are the fringe players supposed to get game time then Jose ?

Your living in cloud cuckoo land if you think that beating an under strength West Ham side is some sort of impressive result, that's what your indicating by saying this result has been on the cards for a long time. Where was this so called impressive result against a stronger West Ham side at the weekend ?

United's 2 best performances have come against Feyenoord who are not far off Scottish premier league standard and against an under strength West Ham side, both ironically in worthless domestic and european competitions where Mourinho put out his strongest sides out that were available.

I'm sorry but i'll stay with my feet on the ground, it's upto you if you want to get carried away as that's your prerogative.

We played far better last night, we looked sharper and quicker, but we were up against West Ham, not one of the better teams
One massive positive for us, Mikki may be getting to terms with playing at OT

glad we avoided Saints and Liverpool and got Hull in the semis

For me a Cup is a Cup, any silverware is better than nothing winning breeds winners
If we make the final against either of those 2 it would be a great Cup to win, especially if we beat the dippers

Agree, they looked sharp and i was surprised how much energy the front 3 had, Rooney was tracking back to defence, he looked on forum. All everyone wants to see is players pushing forward and giving good effort. And thats what they did last night.

I know that the west ham team was a weaker team, but still united players were putting effort in to get forwards. The whole team seemed to be putting more effort in.

well there was only one team that wanted to win that game and it wasn't us, real poor display again, bad passing & ball retention, EFC deserved at least a draw - the penalty, an idiot on the bench put a bigger idiot onto the park
never mind there's always the next game

Thought united controlled the game. Should of made more chances. Penally was soft, dive if anything, although rojo was a red card. But deserved a win though.

Not a bad effort tonight although it was by no means thrilling...
Getting sick of Maureen taking Mata off, and now he has started with Micky....the bloke is just getting into a stride and off he comes as if to say Maureen is asserting himself...
The bloke is a Pr!ck if you ask me...

great victory, Spurs are a top team, we just need the goals to flow and fantastic to see Mikki coming onto a game, looks as though the injury isn't too bad - onwards and upwards
good to see Citeeh and the dippers dropping points and us getting 3 for a change

Didn't expect a win, thought would be alot tougher game than it was. Not sure if it was because untied played so well or if Spurs didn't play aswell.

Left that a bit late. Having said that, United were the better team and should have had 2 in the first half. Very bad decision on Ibra goal by the ref

MU vs WHAM
Mike Dean and the 'linesman' gave us the game, shocking decisions for both the red card and our 2nd goal
West Ham by far and away the hungrier team even with 10 men they looked quicker and more potent than us
Can't stand Gary Neville's commentating, he's so biased towards us it's embarrassing and he's trying to make us out to be way better than we are
I really think we would have struggled 11 vs 11 tonight
Rashford definitely made the difference and pulled us out of the $hite

Yep but we have had plenty of games where we have smashed the opposition and ended up with nowt...!
I will take the points and be happy it went our way for a change.

I'll always take the points, not happy yet with the quality and speed of our play
Pogba looks slow and can't run past players, Herrera's off the boil and lost the 'Growl' he was developing, DVG saved us again probably deserved MOTM, we could easily have lost to 10 men if not for his saves
More games more wins, onwards and upwards - Glory, Glory

Christmas, 3 games 3 wins, yes we looked under par against WHam but you'll take the 3 pts all day long.

We must all admit though at last we are seeing a change, we didn't see these signs under Moyes and LVG nor did we see it at the start of this season under Maureen but it's happening

Sit back and be patient

As i said i didn't think United needed any new players just getting the ones they had working together. To many people jumping the gun saying we need a new squad.

Who would have thought Jones and Rojo would be leading the defence.

A change maybe, 3 wins against 2 teams that will be fighting relegation and West Ham who I think would have beat us with 11 players on the park
BUT a wins a win
We have a great run of fixtures over the next few months, so hopefully we can make in roads into getting 2nd place

We need a (mid 20's) striker, M Dembele (Celtic) maybe a bit young at the moment but looks red hot, whether he could step up to the EPL is another matter, but him and Rashford - what a lethal strike force that could be for the future
