To be honest, all terrorists are mentally ill. we do know that.
Was Nelson Mandela "mentally ill"?

The problem is in the u.s. mental people can get hold of guns easily so can shoot whoever they have a problem with this week.
On another point is it the law to have silly eyebrows if you are a woofer???
(The last part is a lighthearted observation by the way)
Well, the killer's absolutely stunning looking ex-wife also says that it has nothing to do with ISIS but he was actually a mental patient. He tormented her loads as well, during the span she was married to her:

He was according to his opponents. Many Muslims consider George W. Bush and Tony Blair to be terrorists. I just think it's easy to degrade the act by blaming 'mental illness'. It kind of exonerates the ideology that underpins said act.

Adam Curtis (of the brilliant Bitter Lake documentary) did a BBC documentary linking the ideas and the philosophy of the American right to the rise in Islamic fundamentalism

"The power of nightmares"

although it was originally made in 2004 it is extremely prescient today - and even more relevant imo

again it can be seen on youtube

Thank you, Hodgy. Seems very interesting. I shall certainly watch it later.

Edited to say: I've discovered that it's an hour long lengthy thing. Therefore, I'll save it for my evening watch today. I'll stick the iPad to my non-Smart Plasma TV to watch it. Look forward to it.

What is more interesting is why the leftist window lickers here care who I block or not? Does it effect your life in any way? Who gives a **** who I listen to or think is a retard?? Because I give someone a chance and debate them, but discover they are strangers to reason, why would I want to engage with them further?

I haven't blocked you Neil, I think its fair to say you and I have different views, and as long as you post moderately intelligent points whether I agree with them of not, I will engage with you. If you become a dogmatic moron with no logical argument then that will change. Jtaylor deliberately tried winding me up so I blocked him, simples.

Now back on topic, people died, there are more important things going on
Yeah i have to confess i was on a bit of a wind up last night because that whole exchange just struck me as comical. There are plenty of people on here that I don't always agree with (quite frankly I find your reply to be more than a little bit rude) but at the end of the day it's the internet and you don't have to respond to them.

I've never blocked anyone in my life on Scoobynet.

I've blocked shyte talking people on my WhatsApp and on my phone, though. Some just sent inane memes, some talked utter nonsense and some just send moralistic dramatic messages with their implicit narcissism embedded in them. Can't be doing with that. I only talk with people with substance, on my personal spaces. I'd talk to anyone here on this public space; provided they're worth engaging with. Otherwise I'd just ignore them.

I'm not sure if it's true, but some say latent homosexuals are drawn to the far-right of the political spectrum as a cover for their preferences, preferences with which they are wrongfully ashamed and by which they are mistakenly embarrassed. What do you think, Swati? x

I've always thought and believed that the more one criticises gays, the more gay he is. Deep down inside, I mean. I'm no good at researching and pulling out my past posts, but I said it long time ago, a few years back on this board, James. X

Thumbs down

Do Americans really believe that the chaps who agreed the Constitutional 2nd Amendment being the Right to Bear Arms on 15th December 1791 would be happy that it was fine 225 years later for Americans to own weapons of utter devastation, Kalashnikovs etc etc?

Of course not.

I have no idea what guns were like in 1791 but I imagine some single/double shot rifles, heavy cannons and John Wayne type 6 shooters. Hardly the weapons to wipe out 50 poor sods who happened to be gay in a few blasts.

Common Senate - smell the coffee. Stupid, shorted sighted b,astards

By the way, you're still on my phone list, James. Remember, how we used to fight? The more I fought with you, the more I was friends with you; deep down inside. Things like that do happen.

Not that everyone I had a fight with is my mate, mind. They're certainly not in my personal space; nowhere near it.

So I suspect nothing will change (and I have been posting the same for the last 10 years)

How do they respond - large sections simply "deny" there is a problem, smaller sections simply deny it ever took place, and in fact it was a hoax

I suspect as we speak the Orlando false flaggers / hoaxers are in force on the Internet spouting cr4p
Yep, there are large sections of communities here who are screaming out for action to be taken and changes to be made, they are doing all they can but the vastly rich pro guns brigade just squash them with bullsh1t and a louder voice. Then, as you say, the conspiritards don't help either, fairly certain a lot of them are generated and fueled by the pro gun lot.

The thing is, I am really into shooting and guns, I'd like to get some handguns myself, when allowed but I would want to keep them at a range. Regulation is non existent and that is the problem I see, licensing needs to be strictly imposed and licenses should be denied to those who are a risk (psychologically or criminal background wise). ****, I'm sure I could get a gun if I went to enough shooting ranges.

**I should mention that I'm pretty reasonably trained with rifles and I was certified to marksman level by the British rifle association some years ago, I'm not just a gun nut.

Also, we don't need AR15's and things like that, the market on what weapons can be owned here is insane.

The fact that the political and money based system won't allow a presidnt to change this is also batsh1t. Like you, I've talked bout this for years but it's always stayed the same. No idea what will ever make it change.

The thing is I can appreciate how "guns" can be exciting (I grew up pretending everything was a gun - and was really proud of my toy SLR)

And to a certain extent, due to the nature of the geography and sheer size of America, (hunting) rifles / gun ownership will always be needed

But the U.S. Has a toxic mix of, as you the sheer extent of guns available, and a society that is facing extreme socio economic pressures

It's like having a house full of alcoholics, giving them a bunch of alcohol and some stressors and then telling them to drink responsibly, at the moment.

Lol, good analogy

With the drinks companies saying "it is not the alcohol that does the damage, any damage is only done when it is drunk and mixes with a persons blood"

Not that it confirms him as a gay, as he could be visiting those places with the wish to target, but it wouldn't surprise me if he was an oppressed gay soul; in conflict with his real self. His very opinionated dad sounds like a tonne of rock on him.
