All the downsides you have listed are not an issue at all.

You don't need to drain the tank whenever switching back and forth, when you get low you just switch back to the normal fuel map and fill up with normal fuel. No need for a flex fuel sensor or anything else like that.

You only carry a can round when you are going to use it not all the time. And the missus has no need to be pressing buttons or mixing fuel.

You can run meth on a normal map but not the other way round (no meth on a meth map).

You really do have to be some sort of prize ******** to be able to mess it up lol

Think you misunderstand my reasons ,it's more ease of use than worrying about mixing it wrong , I don't really let my car run the tank low so the tank is never really empty so whenever the Mrs gets in and it's below half a tank she will just fill up and drives it so without me making sure it's in the right map it could be driving with the wrong fuel in it I know you say this isn't a problem but I just don't like the idea of having the wrong fuel in it ,, if I didn't carry it around with me I'd have to drive home before going to fill up , then I'd either have to drive it till it's nearly empty(something I don't like doing) then fill up with vpower and switch maps or drive home again first to get more meth so just from a lazy persons point of view I don't see the point when I'm happy with the current spec

My track car will be running meth but via a water injection setup rarther than in tank as like I said I'm lazy

Via a water injection system? So your going to have the water injection system mapped into the ecu? Otherwise there are no real benefits.

Even if it drops to half a tank and you top up just switch it back to the non meth map. It's not a case of been happy with the current spec or power. It is the difference in the way it drives on meth that will sell it.

It really is night and day, far smoother, better response, boosts quicker and harder, holds for longer. I would recommend it to anyone and I am lazy and wouldn't bother with it if it wasn't worth it.....

What I meant was I'm happy with my current spec and how things drive and wouldn't want to push just to chase numbers as I know when enough is enough ish lol

Yeah water injection 50-50 mix with water and meth fully mapped in but that's on a different car that's being built for the track (seen a Scoob with nearly 100bhp gain) , my hatchback is my daily driver so realistically if it doesn't come out of a pump it's going to be hard to convince me either way but having a sensor on the car that monitors the fuel and corrects for whatever is in there seems a good idea to me just from a safety aspect and ease of use

the main difference is that you cant see it burn, so if you did catch it on fire accidentally you could shut the garage door and go to bed thinking everything was fine.... and maybe never wake up
i used to use it and was extra careful about storing it
but now have E85 at my local station and now use that

Thats a stunning colour combination. I searched high and low for a 48w Crystal grey blob when I got mine but couldnt find one so settled with 02c blue.

In the back of my mind theres always this niggle that I wanted 01G or 48w, but i'm committed to the car now as i've exchanged doing mods on it in a trade for getting the missus a conservatory lol

If u regularly start fires when refilling then yea best avoid it.

Common sense and a little care should see you ok.

How you find it compares to e85

I have been trying to find good solid results for the use of these turbo's on our car's with no luck, the skyline lad's use them too and they seem to do well but i still wasn't sure until this post. My scoob is a blob sti widetrack and pretty much standard apart from rcm 340lph pump and iridium8 plugs, it makes 322/307 on srr but as you do i have got used to the power already so was thinking of bumping the power to around the 400 mark without the need to change intercooler location etc to keep a stock look. My intentions are to order in a mambatek 18g version of the vf35 core along with grimmspeed crosspipe and uppipe then port the headers in the hope that it all can get me close to my current target when mapped in, i am still not a 100% on these newage sti's from a tuning perspective so if i am barking at the wrong tree then feel free to change my mind.
I've just been looking at the 18g core and compressor housing for the vf35 for my 2.1. Usual upgrades, fuel pump, pnp headers, new age sti tmic etc. I've got hawk blue 565 injectors with a fuel lab fpr to be fitted and maybe more I've missed.
Id be keen to know if anyone has results on this. I don't want mega hp but do want to head for 400/400 as a goal but would be more than happy at 380/380.

I have a mamba gt3076r on my blob producing 426 and 407 ft lbs will try dig out the graph for you lads to have a look at but have a new phone so will search my emails

When bob rawle mapped it said it was a good string turbo just laggy and not really suited to my 2.0 engine but you drop it down a gear and it hits that's boost it's great

Need a slight map tweak though as my fuel pump gave up and I put a bigger one in so will enquire about that

Had to replace the inlet pipe due to the standard one splitting. Thought it was going to be a bigger job than it was, managed to get it done in a hour and half.

Iv had zero issues. It’s only done about 5k though as it’s only used as a weekend car and doesn’t get used in the winter.

Not on me no, I'll get another one when it's tweaked next month. Made 472/450 on V Power alone.
