oh wait....

Apple owners like yourself think you are buying into something special and above anything else available. The reality is Apple flog off devices that are over priced and outdated by the time the owner leaves an Apple store to a fanfare of whoops and cheers.

And more important devices that lock you into their own constrained limited eco system where Apple is the boss. You will most likely need Apple this that and the other to get anywhere. Soon they are rumoured to dispose of the 3.5" Audio Jack. There is a reason why Apple have so much money and it doesnt take a genius to figure it out, not paying any taxes sure helps them along too.

Aside from the huge markup on products they sell, Apple Fanboys also need to buy into iTunes, plus all the other Apple hardware accessories that comes part of the package of being a fanboy.

From a long time ago I realised what Apple were about and said its not for me. Some very very agressive and cute marketing has got them to where they are now. Apple have taken advantage of gullible people like Jack here and everyone can see the outcome in this very thread. After getting taken for a ride for so many years they wont accept that Apple products are in any way inferior, right Jack?

On the other hand quite a few people have grasped this and moved on, with Android for the most part the devices are far more powerful with superior specifications and for much reduced cost. Plus there is no faffing about with extra hardware, cables or the need to get iTunes or anything.

Jack here was very keen to point out this 'real world' video where Apple trounced every living orgasam to smithereens, with some to spare.

Alas, Jacks limited Cognitive Skills are no good at understanding anything explained by Dozza or myself. Again hardly surprising from someone whose brain is engrossed with Apple.

I will let the dust settle here but look forward to seeing the outdated IPhone 7 soon.
I'll know you'll be back checking, so here's some more pie.

I've just taken the time to read that last post (having previously disregarded it all as crazy type ranting) and he's clearly got no idea how Apple devices actually work.

This is the most exciting bit for me, I have no need for the headphone socket, can't stand cables all over the place and they get crap in them, my iPad's socket is full of compacted fluff right now, I only remember once a year when I go to plug in my fancy headphones and make it worse.

As has always been the case if you want fancy headphones you buy them but I'm sure the included ones - if that's the case - will be adequate for my needs.

I am one of those users of headphones that has odd ears. Which means I can never use the apple headphones as they never fit and hurt. So for years I ahve always used in ear headphones from Jays, Phillips etc. So for me the removal of the jack means I will have to use the adaptor as I wont be able to get on with the Apple ones.

So for me its a bit of an ****.

Not saying I will be going for the iPhone 7 as my 6 does everything I need right now and may hold out for the big anniversary model next year

I feel it, current buds fall out of my ears but I rarely need them when moving so get by.

I won't be moving from my 6+ like yourself mine still does everything I need and the battery life is still great. Would like 3d touch and better cameras but pretty much everything else is fine for me.

Snap

I hate the apple ones, always have done and each model I have sold on still has them perfect in the box

I am well due an upgrade but to be honest the new 7 does not look like its a HUGE change from last year or my current 6. Sure I would like the new force touch, new home button, faster processor, better screen etc but really my 6 does everything I need, is 128GB in size so storage is not an issue.

I shall wait to see this week what it looks like and decide then.

Lets hope the audio change does not turn into " jackgate " because then YOU will be in for a lot of grief

I can't see their being any major issues given it's using Bluetooth. In fact it could well be a good thing, ultimately someone had to do it one day and with any luck it'll improve bluetooth/headphone technology in the process.

Bluetooth headphones have been on the market for years. What Apple are doing is to make new iPhone users buy an expensive adapter just so people can use their existing headphones. But hey at least it will be at least 1mm thinner, that's way more useful on an already thin phone.

Like I said in my last post, Apple milking the fanboy base for all its worth, they apparently have an Apple pen also, a snip @ $99.

The S Pen with the Note series is gratis, no need for a battery either, plus it will write underwater.

The ~$1Billion recall Samsung have to deal with for the Note battery issue is not the best for the company but with expected growth of $20Billion for 2016 its wont hurt them as much as people may think. They done a recall very swiftly and rightly so.

Besides, fires are nothing new to Apple. First Gen IPod Nanos and the IPhone 4 had similar issues.

Kicking out the audio jack (standard on pretty much every other phone in the planet) could be the last straw. Now you are going to need bluetooth headphones and the trouble they pose.

OMG, I can't quite believe you had the ***** to wander back in here. Must have been a burning desire to warm us all with your words.

Let's talk about the pen. Is the Samsung pen the same as the Apple pen? I was under the impression that the Apple pen offered a whole lot more, but maybe I'm wrong and the Samsung isn't just a bit of plastic that can write underwater - Matteboy alert triggered.

Money, if you think a billion won't hurt when you only have 20 then I think you should ask Google about economics. It will hurt. But as mentioned earlier, well done them for stomping on the fire so to speak. How's that fast charging working out for you?

What's the trouble with Bluetooth headphones? http://www.samsung.com/uk/consumer/m...es/accessories I quite like them, can't wait to cut the cord myself.

How can people who have an interest in techy stuff seemingly be so resistant to change? By the sounds of it the iPhone 7 will ship with Bluetooth headphones for those that wish to use them and a thunderbolt/jack adaptor for those that don't. I really don't see it as the big deal breaker the Apple haters are making out.

Quite possibly but it's a bit of a niche issue. The mass market probably won't notice.

There have been great advances in bluetooth audio but the EarPods have stayed the same, they could be better.

I think they'll have a lightning based charger which will be nice or maybe wireless fast charging.

New tech or old rehashed tech doesn't have to be adopted if it doesn't suit the end user requirements/needs.

3D tv for example, didn't catch on.

Apple paid over the odds for Beats, who makes over priced headphones, to the tune of $3bn so it's going to recoup the cost by pushing expensive Bluetooth Beats headphones and will probably have some sort of digital technology/service to ensure they work best with Apple devices.

nothing will be lost to fan boys, not the hassle of losing bluetooth connectivity, the battery recharging, the loss in sound quality or the extra expense incurred.

As someone pointed out Bluetooth headphones are not a 'big thing' or any way a ground breaking development. There is a reason why other companies have not implemented bluetooth - (see points above).

but for Apple, all they care about is further brainwashing their fanbase and getting them to buy more accessories. The fact that bluetooth headphones are not really that good is of no interest to them, what is interesting is further deviating from the general population like the way they eschewed the USB connector and have iTunes to feed the music taste of fanboys, at cost.

People who buy Android phones generally look at tech specs, memory, cpu, camera, screen resolutiuon, wireless charging and all that. Fanboys are not interested in most of this and will go along with whatever is thrown at them.

Like I predicted in earlier threads about the out of date IPhone 7, it looks like in 2017 Apple will have wireless charging and amazing OLED QHD screens. Welcome to 2015 guys.

Jack the lad here could not imagine people looking at feature length movies on a 'tiny' 5.7" QHD AMOLED screen.

Thats because its alien to most people like yourself but standard practise to anyone who has modern android phones.

Apple is going to have to be nice to Samsung because aside from part venture with Samsung on the current Apple CPU (the larger share done by TSMC), they also may need OLED technology to replaced outdated LCD tech currently used.

Thanks for sticking around Toffee Pie, we need more like you in this section. Everyone needs a chuckle now and then.

Bluetooth headphones, you don't like them right now and that's fine, I didn't like my first pair, it was years ago, batteries were terrible, bluetooth was power hungry and just about did audio. Watch the keynote today and if they are added by Apple they'll explain why now is a good time. It's perfect for me as I can't stand wires.

I'm far more interested in learning tools like Swift Playgrounds - that should be released today - than I am in a phone with big numbers that can show a movie on a tiny screen. If that's what you mean by "whatever is thrown at them" then more power to you - literally - enjoy your movies on your tiny screen I'll go to the cinema.

I use Apple wireless charging every day, the same device has an OLED screen as well, quite nice, with 3d touch, really nice. It works great and I look forward to it on a future phone of mine.

Why have they not sold magic iBeans.

Jack, are you aware as of Q1 2016 that Android accounts for over 80% of worldwide mobile phone devices. Them 'tiny' screens doing well it seems

Like i said earlier your brain is spaced out by Apple so much at this stage damage is irreversible.

I've got a 27" Apple Mac and 2 iPads at home that both me and my wife use and wouldn't change them for anything else because I think they are brilliant. We've also got iPhones, but i do think that Apple need to step up on their next phone.

80% You can buy an android toilet, being common and ****ty doesn't make something great. What percentage of those are running the latest version? Let me help, less than 0.01% that's criminal.

Don't get me wrong TP - that's Toffee Pie not Toilet Paper - there are some Android devices with great screens, I've said that since I saw one, but trying to claim that my iPhone is a bit rubbish because I can't watch Moon Raiders in 4k on a 6" screen is kid stuff.

Anyhow I'm off to watch the Olympics - Sponsored by Samsung.
