Cancelling Sky TV after latest price hike-alternatives
Wouldn't blooming give Sky a penny though. Ruined sport in general
My Sky Q contract runs out in September and unless they can give me a very good reason to stay they can put their system where a squirrel stores it's nuts.
It's been very unreliable needing very frequent software updates and resets, it's got more bugs than a tramps vest.
Very good when it's working properly but very poor when it's not which is too often given the premium you pay for a 'premium' product.

Jonnyboy,
I called SKY yesterday to sort out my package as my bill had soared to nearly £110 a month.
After a bit of "I'm going to leave it you can't drop the price" etc etc I signed up to an 18 month deal for £67 consisting of everything except movies. This is with a normal HD box not the new sky q.
I've got a 31 day cooling off period though so could get out of it if you think your pal could sort me a better deal out...???

Mind you next price rise, will probably be before that, so i will contradict myself
What i'm trying to say is Sky are thieving coonts and have way too much cash and a monopoly.

I cancelled Sky a couple of months ago. Can't say I miss it at all - choose to spend the sky money on 2nd hand box sets of stuff I should have watched ages ago...Lost, Fringe, Dexter, etc.
Twice in the last month Sky have offered me 75% off to sign up for 12 months again. £5.83 per month for the basic package.

Plus for live sport, kodi just lets you down
Films are generally good if the blu ray has just been released. But most new new films are shocking on there, terrible picture etc etc. I couldn't handle having to mess about with kodi everyday. A basic sky package is perfect for me. With kodi for films and sport (which is generally rubbish because the streams lose reception frequently, even though I get 48 on my broadband).
Satplexuk is the best I've came across yet for sports and movies, hd quality and no buffering.
Www.satplex.co.uk or satplexuk on Twitter.
the guy who runs it is very fast and any issues are sorted quickly

Makes me laugh people moaning about Kodi...It's free ffs!
A current cinema films quailty will only be any good if there is a leaked copy, other than that you'll have to wait or watch a Cam copy. There are thousands upon thousands of HD films to watch so i don't get the moaning...ok, sports can be hit or miss but there are some good sports add ons that work fine.
If you want non buffering HD real time TV you have to pay for it, at £40 a year I get everything I need through my IPTV service.

Here he is, Bundy the IPTV sceptic! It's £40 Bundy, its not alot of money when you take into consideration Sky/Virgin is almost 3 time the cost for one month!
You pays your money you take your chances, like everything in life

It's not the money that's the issue, when it gets shutdown, which it will, you won't have any TV service apart from the cack that is freeview lol. You need to see the wider picture faillen.

Probably true
but health is more important than being a couch potato

Got to disagree with your on that one. I've tried a few streams because I watch a few of my teams games on the box but it's far from hd. Glitchy most of the time aswell, I've given up sometimes with it.
Again the cost is not your issue, what you gonna do when it gets owned by the feds? Thats right, you'll signup to Sky or whatever again, so the only saving grace would be that you have saved a bit overall for an inferior service

You'll like this Bunder, Sky Sports F1 HD screen shot on my laptop using my paid sub
Tbh it's a different choice for everyone. Some prefer the reliability of paying £70 a month and know exactly what they get. Whilst others prefer to not be ripped off and go with kodi/iptv. Now I was the first to say forget sky and virgin and their ridiculous prices and have done so for about 6 years now since owning my own home. But after years of kodi/jailbreak etc I'm loving sky q! Movie wise kodi was spot on but for live sports it was really hit and miss and the quality of the streams was terrible.
