Was dreading this next step as you have to be incredibly careful. One lapse of concentration and it costs you.
Flatting and polishing.
Scary stuff!!
Mission Success!!
No burn through thankfully.
One fresh paint job flattened and polished. I am gobsmacked how well this has turned out considering I've done it in my garage with a £100 compressor. Going to seal it with some Wax next.

Seriously though I did the same with the engine building stuff. Didn't have a clue when I first started it all.
I've taught myself and learnt as I've done it making mistakes on the way.
You Tube has been a massive help on the paintjob front.
plenty of really good videos out there.

Major setback today.
My usual paint supplier is closed due to Covid so I sourced elsewhere. Took a panel so they could match it. Its a standard colour so it should have been easy to match.
Needed to do two bumpers rear wing and a door handle.
They've done a poor job of matching the paint.
I'm hoping when my original supplier reopens that they will match it better.

Managed to sort the paint issue out after the original supplier reopened.
Paint job is finished with the exception of the centre grill and NSR arch trim.
To say I'm pleased with how this has turned out is a huge understatement!

Minor update, managed to get hold of a front grille.
What a nightmare that was. Can't get them new unless imported from Japan costing a small mortgage.
Jokers on ebay wanting silly money
Breakers who will only sell them as front end conversions or as complete bumper at north of £500.
I nearly opted for a Carbon set but I really wanted the OEM Look.
Anyway finally found one and painted it.

I'm hopefully going to gather some momentum with this now.
Big step forward this weekend though with a nice little delivery thanks to Ian Godney from Godspeed.
An AP Racing 355mm 6 pot kit with G Hook discs and rear discs to match and braided lines all round.

Next on the agenda is properly sorting the fuel system.
I've previously used rubber nitrile hoses but got fed up with the smell of fuel.
This time round I'm using PTFE hoses which should eliminate that.
I'm running an AN8 line from pumps to rails which runs the length of the car. I'm also using one of the original hard lines as the return line but I've cut it prior to it going underneath the car to allow me to fit a 6an - hardline joiner so I can route it to my surge tank.
I'm also going to be running a flex fuel setup so I have an ethanol sensor to go on too.
Will hopefully get the fuel side of things finished this week.

Well it's up and running.
Been a tough one this one. Its fought me every step of the way.
150 or so miles on it though.
I've had to impose a boost limit of 0.6bar and 5000rpm rev limit on the ECU as I'm not disciplined enough to self regulate.
One thing I will say without incriminating myself too much. The rebuilt and upgraded turbo sounds amazing and the car pulls really really well, hence the change to the ECU to hold things back whilst I'm running it in.
