I started my private pension(Pearl, remember them) when I was 18 years old. I was assured that I would be fine because I started so early. Over the years my Pension was sold to other companies, more charges applied. I had to move pension because of excessive charges, that halved my pot! Things were good for a few years then my new pension started making excessive charges. I stopped my pension contributions some 10 years ago. I looked to property and other investments to secure my future. My pension is now going to be changed again(under advice) so I can, when I come to retirement age, draw down most of it in cash with as little charges as possible.
Global business hasn't done my pension a great deal of good, apart from being a source of excess charges. I and my wife have done well for ourselves and structured our wealth to invest in what we want and provide for our kids.

Well it's destroyed cornwalls economy in one fell swoop....
A loss of 150million quid of Eu money for heritage, maintenance and subsidies for all manner of projects to bring tourism and jobs to a poor area.
So far we've saved 350mil a week, the government will have to give 350mil to the NHS (oh wait the out camp broke that promise already )
150mil to Cornwall
70mil to Wales
Etc etc....
Not really saved anything considering the 12% drop in the value of the pound d etc....

You do realise that any money the EU gave Britain (or Cornwall) was UK tax payers money to start with.
£350m a week into the NHS was never promised. They just pointed out that £350m a week "Could" pay for a new hospital a week.
What in reality will happen?
Once the dust settles, and a date is agreed to break ranks with the EU (won't happen for at least 2 years, which ever government is in charge will simply say this:-
We gave £350m a week away, which we now have.
Lets pay the Farmers subsidies direct now, and any other benefit Britain got from the EU. Just pay it direct. At the end of each week, we now have X amount of money left. They'll probably invest more into the NHS, schools etc. They may even not spend all of it, and use some of it to pay off our huge debts.
Overall, we'll be better off. That is unless Labour get into power again, then they'll spend the whole lot, and borrow even more

No but it is heavily funding it and the leave vote has created a lot of uncertainty in the scientific community.

That money won't exist (and I cannot believe that some people are still going on about 350m, the campaign is over the lies can stop now) if we've managed to shrink the economy. The debate is far more likely to be about what to cut, rather than where we can spend the imaginary £350m a week.
Are that stupid
They now seem to talk of "sunny uplands" I half expect them to break into land of hope and glory
Thanks Markmd for the post
JT - will read the Link, travelling atm
And as for a revote, petition no way we have made our choice we all have to live with the consequences

The juxtaposition between the build up and the punchline: an amazing metaphor as to the notional, romantic expectation vs. probable reality.

Heavy funding does not progress science.
The crackpot and lunatics laughed at by the scientific communities to later revolutionise are the same types of people to be denied funding by the EU.
It's all about marketing...make a politician believe you can invent something and they'll give you millions, maybe billions. Thus the EU panders to the salesman and fraudster rather than the true genius.
If something is created requiring worthwhile investment, it can achieve its funding on its own merit.

I can't get over the 'have another referendum' petition. I hope the person who started it would have done exactly the same thing if 'Remain' had won by the same amount.
It will get nowhere.

That money was wiped out when the pound dropped 12% over night. It does not exist anymore. So no it won't be put back into subsidies etc. And if it is it isn't because we have "saved" it..... because it DOES NOT EXIST.

A certain Mr N Farage, from 'The Sunny Uplands' said a couple of weeks ago that he thought a 52-48 result in favour of Remain would not be an end to the matter, and that in those circumstances he'd work day and night for another referendum.
Now I certainly never agree with that fool, and I'm not about to now. A second vote would be totally wrong.
It does illustrate one thing though. These people need to be wary of what they said during the campaign, because they're sure as hell going to be held to account.

Even the bbc accepts it is nonsense
The fact that more than 1.5 million people have signed a petition calling for a second EU petition has attracted a lot of attention - but it has zero chance of being enacted.

So £350 million gross, takeaway rebate(variable, decided, controlled by EU and returned the following year)=Net figure.
That still allows UK to spend £350 million on priorities that the UK decides to spend it on, with no interference from the EU and without waiting for a proportion to come next year

I have just watched a bbc discussion in which the presenter said the stocks and pounds crashed and backed up by Bloomberg representative. The other guest instantly said, the ftse finished higher than the start of the week-true, and the pound was nearly the same value back in Feb and has been in decline since 2014- true
All news outlets just hype up this ****.
There was a guy from Germany who said it was a great opportunity for the UK to flourish
