best car - my current 330bhp blob wrx

worst car - not really bought a bad car, the scaryist car I've owned was a saphire cosworth. The first time I went out for a blast, I ended up overtaking another car sideways at 60mph , I was looking through my windscreen at the other driver through his side window . When I reached my destination I had a look at the tyres and found out there were remoulds on the rear

Just noticed...it was a 1.3GL, not a 1.4. And mine had a "4". I took the rev limiter out of the rotor arm so it would go a bit faster (just a spring and plunger that shorts out the rotor when it spins too fast) Actually went quite well, my mate at the time had 1988 1.3 Sport Coupe with the same engine but 5 gears (E on 5th ) and electronic ignition - his was mint as it was his mums with 30K on the clock, mine looked like a shed (dents scratches etc) and done 90K. But mine was faster in a drag race

Mate's Polo is still on the road...I see it every now and again looking a bit tatty now though. Mine is dead...taxi rammed it and wrote it off

Best was my 313/300 Turbo 2000 but did enjoy my soot chucking Fabia VRS.

Worst - Clio 172. Totally mint, economical and reliable but off the back of an Impreza and an Elise, was just naff. Fabia was way more fun.

LOL, I hope Ford read this, quite a few "worst cars" turn out to have been Fords of one guise or another.

Best car, is the STI, 4 doors, seated 5, could get golf clubs in the back and the most fun to drive.

Worst car, Peugeot 406 estate, was like driving a barge, not cool at all.

Well, the worst car I ever owned was a Fiesta 1.1 CVT, totally gutless and a rust box as well.

I did like my XR3i back in the day, however.

Best car has to be my Spec D PPP

Difficult one ,

worst car was easy, Ford Anglia 105e, Wide weels, jacked up back end etc.

Bought it before i passed my test, rebuilt the engine replaced the rusty front

wings, and It failed the MOT, to the point it was uneconomical to repair.

lesson learnt, never buy from a mate lol.

Best car... difficult as two have served very well,

but on reflection Saab 2.3 Tid, came with the webasto diesel heater

Bought for £1700 with 73K on the clock, and ran for 5 years, before being

scrapped, Cost me nowt other than oil & filters!

its T16s HPT father was a close contender for shed though

Had a lot of cars over the years, so I'll give 2 good and 2 bad that stick in my mind.

Audi GT fantastic motor ragged it all over the place for 4yrs and the only thing that went wrong was a water pump and it cost next to nothing to sort £18 exchange.

The 2.0L Ford Cortina I had before it on the other hand was an absolute dog, looked fantastic and was great when it worked, but was a constant pita breaking down all the time.

However I had 3 Ford Fiesta XR2's and they were all fantastic, one in particular being an absolute pearler and for some strange reason would have left the other 2 for dead by some considerable margin, which was always a bit weird as they were all exactly the same, let it go for peanuts to a friend in need and she crashed it into a bus 2 weeks later.

And last but by no means least my mini 1275 GT, that was an over heating un-reliable clump of rust that pretty much eat it'self, but again was fantastic fun while it lasted.

I had a friend in the 80's who worked for an advertising agency in Fulham

it was the height of the Sloane Rangers and 80's post big bang bubble

His job was to deliver artwork to clients all around London and the SE

he had the pick of Golf GTI's (Mk1 and 11's) in the car pool

he was always amazed at the difference in performance between two ostensibly identical cars

Indeed, a place I worked at had 4 Novas delivered, strangely the one that belonged to the lunatic sales man that thrashed the cr4p out of it from day one, mostly because he hated it was by far the quickest of them all, and he never managed to kill it either.
