How customer service should be!

And actually I would and should have used ASPerformance. Might hit Alyn up for a spare on Monday and some other bits I need...
Did they take payment through PayPal? I know Alyn wouldn't.

I doubt it, I'd imagine he paid by card over the phone which if he had done the same with ICP then there wouldn't of been an issue.

Nothing wrong with ICP, fantastic company ! I've spent hundreds and hundreds of pounds with them and never had any issue.

Rediculous thread if you ask me !

I thought the same thing but thought I'd give him the chance to say what we all knew.

Not having a bash at you but if this company didn't exist it would be a loss to the Subaru community ,

Not many businesses would post out to a different address if paying by PayPal?

As above, I have used Import Car Parts several times - excellent service, good prices and fast delivery.

I've purchased parts from ICP and they have despatched them to my garage next day. I ordered over the phone and paid by debit card.
You have issues with pay pal not ICP. Give a business credit where credit's due fan boy. Why do you want to ruin their reputation because of one issue that hasn't cost you anything?

I might add there have never been any issues returning parts when I ordered wrong either.

This thread really needs deleting - the title 'Poor service Import car parts ICP' is just wrong - they don't offer a 'Poor Service' as is obvious from the people (including me) who have replied to it. People might see the title without viewing the thread (or this thread might appear in a Google search) and not use them.

I think it should be left, just for the comedy value, put a smile on my face anyway I think it's good for their business and a bit of an own goal for the OP.

If you knew the pp procedures in buying from traders, youll know this prior so yes, user error.
Ive dealt with icp many times, returned for refunds, delivered to garage and my house no problems.
At checkout on icp paying via pp it does actually state they will only ship to pp adress and if you want it sending elsewhere then you need to add adress in pp.
Thats how i found out.
I read before actually paying, thats the difference here, hence my comment, user error.

I can see what your saying op ,
You payed online and used your pay pal asking for diff address.
But icp won't allow for theft issues ,
If you had payed on card there would be no issue. Some company's only allow your home address only.
Icp are the best people to buy parts for an import, and I feel there service is spot on, my Subaru dealer won't even give me a quote for parts,
Sorry to hear you had a issue but same
Time this company is one of the best for
Sourcing parts especially hard to get bits.

This thread just gets funnier every time I look at it.

Jay just admit you were having a bad day, didn't pay attention and then got the hump and threw your toys out the pram.

We've all done it mate, time to put your hands up and admit that you didn't

I think you will find then that, it is paypals problem. As thats there rules, if ICP had sent the items to a different address than what was on the payment details then if you had claimed against them it would have gone in your favor.

Paypal always state you need to post to address in payment section. As you bought direct from ICP, Paypal rules only cover them to send to address on Paypal payment details or there not covered. It seems your problem is with Paypal not ICP. And we all know what paypal are like

I also didn't need load of replies with people who are happy with their services, in my opinion theh are crap to deal with. I put it in writing that I want it sent there and it was my risk, in the event of a claim this is all they would need to show PayPal.

So its OK for you to voice your opinion and drag down a good company reputation because you cant be bothered to use paypal correctly but not for others to voice all the positive experiences.

Think you need think about that.

it doesn't quite work like that. I think you'll find 'suppliers' operate according to relevant laws and within those laws, to what works for them. You of course are free to decide which suppliers you spend your money with. They are giving you goods in exchange for financial reward, but don't make the error of thinking they are doing things how you pay them to.

very intriguing, only one of those mentioned sells pattern parts with such a poor description that people are misled.........

makes little difference to us as we concentrate on building, machining, custom parts, etc in the main and offer far more technical support to our race customers, etc - we don't aim to stock every minor gasket or fastener as we can't generally cope with our workloads anyhows

I’ve been finding this more and more from ICP. They’ve been substituting small “extras” with non genuine parts despite paying for genuine parts. One example I can give is when I bought and paid for genuine top mounts with nuts. The top mounts were genuine but the nuts were just cheapo generics. Doesn’t sound like much of a problem but I paid for genuine and when I grab my 12mm socket only to find the new so called genuine nuts are 13mm happened a few times from them. Not enough to put me off buying from them but it’s enough to have changed my buying habits from not bothering to look elsewhere even if more expensive to now shopping around more.

I have and will continue to buy from them. Great company as far as I am concerned. This issue is not to do with ICP!

This is just the world we live in now. Use a different method of payment!
