Just ordered myself a dash cam. Not worth the risk anymore. Still unbelievable though. Seriously. Who knows how long this has been going on for? Just can't trust garages.

IMO they got their cameuppance brought on by their own arrogance in thinking the OP would just walk away and forget it ever happened, the thread posted on the Midlands Scooby fourm highlights the arrogance.

Is SC going to release its own video now that shows the OP happily shaking hands with one of the staff before he heads on his merry way?

Was it Kev that kind of lost the plot with a right old rant on 22B a few years ago?

At least we can see the video to make our own judgements.

From the video it doesn't look as if they were trashing it on the smooth tarmac as the OP stated. although its very hard to judge speed from a video but before the lane it looked to be OK.

On the lane, you could argue that they didn't swerve for the pot holes but they certainly didn't try and avoid them either, even through some were easily avoidable. and the speed is far to fast. anyone with any mechanical sympathy would not drive that fast on that surface. I wouldn't even drive my £500 15 year old Focus Diesel like that, let alone my "pride and joy", it just shows a lack of respect for their customers.

Easily a chance of damaging a wheel or tyre. i'm no mechanic but i would have thought that it could have damaged the suspension as well. Would SC have paid for a new tyre if they had popped it???? but its not just one tyre is it being AWD if the tyres are part worn it could then need 2 or 4 tyres - thats £600+ just to sort one burst tyre. all what ifs and buts, granted as that never happened but still....

I think the OP maybe went around it the wrong way and possibly exaggerated a bit. Not showing the video to SC first to let them deal with it was a mistake i think. If it was me i would have taken the footage straight to the owner and discussed it with them in the hope that it would have been dealt with on the spot.

Everyone has there different views on what is acceptable to and what is not, for me personally its not acceptable. However i am certainly not naive to think that they are the only garage in the UK that are guilty of "enjoying" a customers car and they wont be the last garage.

Just goes to show it pays to really know a garage and their mechanics.

Glad it's finally over.

Well, I'm off to bed, have to get up a bit earlier now as there's at least one more person depending on my tax pounds tomorrow.

As a few have mentioned already. It is worth taking on board that this issue was created by an 'employee' not the 'employer'... Admittedly, it hasn't been handled as smoothly as it could've been by the employer, there's no reason to 'boycott' Scoobyclinic as a whole.. The cause of the problem has been dealt with and justice served.

For anyone still worried about using said company, I can confirm the roads leading to and from Engine tuner are pothole free

Been waiting for the video before passing comment and as said by most totally unacceptable !
a mate of mine has had a similar thing happen with another garage too (again all caught on dashcam )

I personally haven't used them since my turbo issues and experienced the same lack of customer care as others seem to have had , personally not that surprised as sad as it is .

Your business is only as good as your employees !

I just wonder who's responsibility it would be to repair that part of the farm road.
The surface looks good and well maintained up until the road forks off left to the farm.
The farm looks as though it has industrial units let out to various businesses. If HGV'S used it much, it would be a nightmare to maintain.
The guys driving the car didn't act in a professional way and that comes back to the person running the business.

Quite a drive from the midlands though, and EngineTuner's website is even more shocking than SC...

That said, have only heard good things about Alan Jefferey and his outfit

kevs own arrogance is his undoing theres horror story's (i can think of at least a dozen) all over the place from recent months maybe alittle longer about sc or scr or the other Couple of company names he uses to bound the taxman around.

Theyre quick to pull everywhere else down cos hes states there the best at what they do, that fact of filling the pot holes that have been there years now after the fact is pretty ironic sort of lets fix the barn door after the horse has done one.

Im glad the OP has decided to do something about it unlike many that are threatened with sending the boys around after kevs threats of legal action have been ignored.

I also noticed all but one of there little followers have vanished since the video has been made public i certainly wouldnt use them again as many others have said is this the begining of the end time will only tell

Well it's a real shame that this turned out to be true and makes me now wonder if the freshly ripped (i.e. still full of oil and leaking out right there) CV boot on my old car was caused by one of their guys rather than being the unfortunate coincidence I thought it was

The guy needs to be sacked. None of this being allowed to hand his notice in and walk away with his head held high, soon to be appearing at a garage near you! Kev has always struck me as a decent bloke and has been both helpful and polite in my dealings with him personally, as well as helping out on labour etc. come big bill time, so I really do hope he is able to put sentiment to one side and take the appropriate action here as he just can't allow staff to drag the business through the mud like this.

Bought this one. £40ish off eBay. Very small/discreet, good quality but affordable.

Not sure I'd have gone to a national paper about it but if he felt they weren't taking his complaint seriously, or if he simply wanted to make others aware of what goes on then fair play.
They did rake his complaint seriously and repeatedly asked to see the video footage. The clown is out for money or more... Hasn't given them the footage to look at or the chance to deal with it

edit, had to edit my post as I forgot to convert to MPH so it is in fact 19.24 mph AVERAGE.

Can't believe people are defending the guys driving his car!! You obviously don't give a shi# about yours. Took my car there late 2014, never again. But that's a different story.

Ahhhh one of the aforementioned overnight specialists... Given your track record, all we need now is Houghy and we've got a double act... Which ones Bonny and who's playing Clyde??? Or is it Ray Charles and Stevie wonder?

There's always someone trying to cash in on everything. As for the taxman, are you declaring EVERY cash job you do? Doubt it. We certainly know rotherham Scoobies has dodged the taxman with cash jobs since 2012 until he **** himself in 2014 and declared with companies house. I suggest you keep your own house in order before you comment on someone elses

You mean so they could see the footage, creep and crawl, give the Op an apology, a free SCR sticker and send him on his merry way. That way no one else is non the wiser, I think all the past, present and future customers are all entitled to see it

Have any of the muppets that think the footage isn't too bad (probably the ones that bend over for Kev and let him go in dry) tried watching it wearing a decent pair of headphones. The employees in the car can clearly be heard laughing and making the kind of noises made when you know something is going to hurt (like the ones in the brackets above, eh lads) and also the passenger pointing out potholes for the driver to hit. Also the sound of the suspension crashing sounds very unhealthy as well. Agree with the earlier post about the comment regarding ****ing up an alloy that might make him mend the road, think that was directed at the garage owner (seems to have done the job though!)
