The stupid comments made by the mechanic don't help their cause, daft really, seeing as they may lose their job(s) over it.

You're having a laugh!!! Are you one of the mechanics there by any chance?
Would you drive you car over potholes like that??

I for one will not be giving scoobyclinic any business!

As the daily mail took the report I'm surprised they didnt somehow blame SC for the death of Diana, the general rise in house prices and how all car mechanics cause cancer.

Exactly what I thought, you honestly say you can't see them aiming for the pot holes when the video in front of your eyes shows them steering towards them, that is disgusting and if it was my car I'd be at a solicitors with that video. I contacted them with regards to a power upgrade and exhaust system but you can safely say that won't be happening.

To be honest, I thought this was gonna all blow over and the op found out to be talking crap, but having seen the video I can see where he's coming from. I certainly would be seriously pissed off if my car was driven like that when taking it to them in good faith to resolve a fault.

Not sure I'd have gone to a national paper about it but if he felt they weren't taking his complaint seriously, or if he simply wanted to make others aware of what goes on then fair play.

I recently contacted SC about at suspension options for my recently imported Hawk. Quite ironic watching that video - I'd need to be convinced of a serious change in attitude towards customer care if I were to ever contemplate taking my business there in the future

Well let us know when you sell your car, and I'll avoid it like a plague.

Tbh I'm disappointed at kev with his remarks regarding op, along the lines of 'we get a few like that in life' well this one clearly back fired.
Kev is q nice chap too but he should of kept stum rarther than showing off with the smart comments.
Gutted for him.

Been reading this thread without comment so far, but I have to say, if that were my car I'd be as pissed as the OP. That's no way to drive a customers car down a road you know is in poor condition and WILL damage your car. Irespective of the previous damage and dodgy repair to the headlight & bumper, driving it like this would have shaken things loose.

I hope Kev takes this seriously as I wouldn't hand my car keys to people who drive my pride & joy like that. I'm glad he's out fixing the road, but IMO the guy driving does need to answer for this. Not acceptable at all.

If it were me I'd have handled this very differently indeed. I'd have talked to Kev and showed him the video. I'd have asked him to fix my car, check my tyres, tracking and damage too and would not have gone to the media. Sharing the vid with Kev would have saved a lot of this silly name & shame thread rubbish we see daily.

Said my piece, I'm off. ta.

I say fair play to the OP for sharing it. NO company has right to test drive a car or disrespect a driver like that.

Think we can say fair well to scooby clinic though as no one will want to use them after this.

I know i wont be getting my forged build done ther now.

Well I'm a fan of SC and the work they have done on my car, but it's plainly obvious that the guy driving the car is taking the p1ss and aiming for the pot holes, no defence for that kind of behaviour really.

I feel sorry for everyone else that works there now and all the good work they have put in over the years, because there's no doubt that this is going to effect them and the business in general, all down to one person and a minutes worth of stupidity.

Sad times.

Err.... pass

Seriously though, if the owner was completely unaware of the attitudes and actions of his employees, it would be harsh if he went out of business because of a moment of madness by one of them. But then you could argue that had he selected his staff more carefully and instilled them with a culture of customer care and professionalism, none of this would have happened in the first place. Maybe the owner will comment on this post once he's taken stock....

I think it's important to keep the pitchforks in your cupboards and not lynch a whole business based on stupid actions from 1 employee. What's key is how Kev resolves this to ensure this doesn't happen again.

Very surprised by that video. Given the years that they have been doing business - and the satisfied customers I have seen posting on here and other Subaru forums - it's pretty sickening to see someones pride and joy being treated with so little respect.

One trader I certainly won't be giving any future business!

from an outsider's pov. What could have been settled as a simple bit of humble pie and an internal disciplinary, and (maybe) politeness , has now cost SC considerable future £££. Word of mouth is worth more than saving on 1 customer's complaint. The fact he clearly had video evidence meant the guys who drove it should have owned up earlier to the owner, who's gonna be pissed now surely

Agree - Whats happened has happened. Its how it goes from here that will determine how good SC deal with such situations.

I totally agree with the above. The employee driving the car would be sacked for that if I was in charge, and the passenger/colleague would be watched like a hawk. Without having seen the video, I'm sure the employees in question denied any wrong doing and how was the management to know otherwise?

With that said, the road shouldn't have been allowed to get to that state in the first place, and that IS the fault of the management. It wouldn't have happened at all if the road was well maintained (presumably there was no problem with the rest of the test drive as it wasn't shown).

Humble pie and an official apology, along with appropriate disciplinary action agains the staff involved is in order and should go a long way to mitigating any future loss of business for this clinic for scoobies. And the customer should be offered to have his invoice for a full 4wheel alignment plus any related parts at a garage of his choosing paid by SC IMHO.
