The last battery spilled out on me and had a bit or surface rust on and under the battery tray I spotted this when I put new battery on and asked for the clinic to attend this
the fuel flex sensor is fitted
aNd tomioka fuel pressure reg and lines you can see the blue fuel pressure reg up right jab side
they mounted new oil cooler out the front
and you can see from the picture are on with routing the oil cooler lines

isn't that oil cooler going to just empty into the sump soon as you switch the engine off and have to refill again after or does the sandwich plate sort that out as iv always mounted them upright for this reason ?

As it runs a thermostatic take off plate, it opens like a coolant stat, so doesnt open til upto temp and then closes when at temp.... the feed is also at the bottom of the core and circulates UP to the top so no it wouldnt empty. Also bare in mind it works on oil presure, temp and flow regardless of where its mounted anyway.

thanks for clearing it up ,, just my concerns about it being open when you shut off the engine as liquid will always try and find the lowest point ,if it shuts when up to temp what stops it getting hotter ??,, just the reason iv always mounted them upright but as long as its safe I don't suppose it matters

You can mount the core any way you wish, even with the take offs at the bottom if you wanted, as oil is under pressure if is pushed around the core anyway so it finds its own and doesn't need bleeding like a rad. It wont cause any negative effect which way you fit it TBH, although iv heard people say the way you done yours can cause a build up of hot oil (like a bath) in the core as it doesn't flow as effectively as when its top to bottom, but like most things online, its probley bollocks anyway lol
yes but the pressure stops with the engine as it comes from the pump so my concern was that with the stat open due to being up to temp and then turning it off the oil would want to find its way to the lowest point and wouldn't have anything stopping it as the stat would be open and due to being up to temp and the engine wouldn't be running the pump to provide pressure so until the stat gets cold enough to shut whats keeping the oil in the cooler ?

Anyway lets not shy away from Raggy Doos thread... sorry bud

Update
the hks intercooler and been painted black
the bumper is cut and meshed
the oil cooler is plummed in
once the intercooler pipes are put back on a smoke test will be carried out to check for any leaks
the car will be running on syvecs if no leaks the bumper will go back on
and we get closer to mapping

That is true, but the oil doesn't need to be in the cooler when you start the engine, it needs to be in the sump, so it "draining back" is better for the crank bearings, then when the stat opens it feeds the core again to circulate the warm oil around....

last post and then we can pm if needed save messing up the thread lol, and I enjoy debating these things sensibly for a change ,, but you would then have too much oil (possibly a extra 1tr) in the sump until the stat opens and that can't be good for a engine
just my thoughts on it but if laggy is happy then thats the only person that counts

I would suspect the manufacturer, in this case perrin, know a darn sight more than anyone on here wouldn't you say, you could take it up with them of course

Tidgy also makes a good point, perrins kits come upright, so that's how they state to fit aswell...

All mickey taking aside, hownwould you fully drain the oil during changes if you didn't have a downward flow?
after a quick nosey round at fitment on various websites and such, the general consensus is it doesnt really matter. Some seem to fit both feeds down, some both feeds up, some side feeds.

lame btw I am well aware what took place
I seen the video I read the articles and I read the thread
the company had fought very hard to recover from that
and my car wouldn’t be there if I believed it wasn’t the best place for it

I have to say the workmanship looks top notch.
you've done well to persist with the car.
Top marks to the clinic for trying to sort it out ,hope it ends with a working sorted motor

I often pm dan in the evening ask him 50 car related questions
then we might get chatting about life in general
im informed of Everything every step of the way
and the workmanship on the car is brilliant more than I could have hoped
of course the creme da la creme will be in the mapping
because it’s been well documented the way the previous mapper and garage left my car
