Not even Apple can make watches desirable

I actually use it to manage system resources and delete Apps. Nothing to do with malware. But your melted brain wont understand this no more it can understand how so much detail (such as S Health) can be fitted onto a QHD display, Apple users are quite content with 4 boxy icons across the display for quite a while now.

is the incredible irony of that lost on you?
But neither question answered. Would you like to try again?

I'll give you fast charging though, although repeated fast charging on a device which is IP67/68 is going to have an interesting effect on the battery.

You realise wireless charging is utter bollocks right? If you want to talk about people being taken in by manufacturers gimics that's got to be one of best examples. Rather than plugging the lead into your phone, you plug it into the 'wireless charger' which your phpne then sits on to charge. So you've not actually done away with the wires, you've simply moved them a couple of inces away. Utterly pointless.

Which is why the iphone 7 variants don't have it.

Wireless charging is just for convenience and to a certain extent speed, as you don't need to plug anything in once your charging pad is in place. To be honest i love it for this reason alone, plus the fact i don't have to set my phone next to a wall plug, which are usually in an inconvenient place. And don't start with the but you can use USB charging from another device/PC, its too slow for this argument, when fast wireless charging can be completed in an hour or so in my case.
As for the battery life being affected, what toffeepie said. I've been fast wireless charging my s7e for nearly 2yrs now, the batt life is identical to when it was new, so no issue there.

I'd like wireless charging on my phone, I like it on my watch. It goes without saying that Apple - who know a bit about batteries - could implement it if the time me was right, it's not. Thinking they're not capable is just dumb.
Anyhow, my battery is on 17% and I need maps to get to my hotel so can't fart around on here too long.
Loving the image you have of me TP, especially funny when you post a Fandroid rant at the same time.

Fast charge has no impact on battery and should have no bearing on a phones ip rating at all. Fast charging needs associated hardware mostly from Qualcomm and the lightning port does not support either fast charge 2.0 or 3.0.

As for the convenience, if plugging a charger in is really such a great hardship then you must have a really easy life.

Have another rant, go on you know you want to. I'm on my iPad now while my iPhone slow-fast charges on the iPad charger and need a laugh.
You might find it somewhat amusing that this is the first work trip in ten years that I've left my MacBook at home. Bloody Toughdell is so big I couldn't fit the MacBook in my backpack. Luckily I spent 2 days updating it last week, Windows is just aweful sometimes.

Most devices use the hardware from them for fast charging.
Most except Apple that is.
So there you have it.
Outdated displays, much smaller batteries, no fast charge, no wireless charge and from articles it seems poor battery performance too.
This is the Apple iPhone 7, cutting edge technology ..for fanboys.
This is why they are in decline and why most people on the planet don't buy expensive iphones.

There it is, feeling a release?
You know the iPhone 7 display has been judged the most perfect ever tested? Don't you sometimes think you might be wrong.
Could it perhaps be better to not need a bigger battery? I know you like your big numbers, but it must sometimes register when you find yourself charging every day, same as the rest of us with tiny batteries.

That makes no sense in the slightest. Unless your charging pad has a silly long mains lead, it will invariably end up sat next to a wall plug in the same way a conventional charger does.

As opposed to fanboys charging an iPhone 6/7 in about 2.3 hours, with a much smaller battery.

Mine's fully charged now and I don't feel inconvenienced, in fact it can stay on the charger overnight as usual, lasted a day and a half on the last charge. I'm not saying I wouldn't mind if it charged a bit faster, who wouldn't, but given the choice between needing a big battery and fast charging and features such as 3D Touch and the Taptic Engine I'll stick with a day and a half usage from a two year old phone and charging overnight.

That long lead, it wouldn't happen to use the same connectors as your conventional phone charger by any chance would it?

Point proven. Up until the someone actually does proper wireless power transmission, wireless charging is just as much of a naff sales gimmick as removing the headphone socket.

wireless charging has to start somewhere. There are many benefits aside from faffing about with charge cables, for example by your bedside table or in any of the kiosks and airports around the world who use them so no need to worry about not having a charge plug.
Apple are behind the times and need an overhaul for the next iPhone. The iPhones themselves look dated and old, take the iPhone 7 plus - its humongous and just has a 1080p 5.5" display. The S7 Edge (just as an example) is far more ergonomic and attractive.
Apple have aced it on the marketing front for years, take the 3.5mm Jack. Touted as being outdated and being required to be removed to meet IP compliance amonst other things (mostly BS, Samsung can pack a whole plethora of tech (with higher IP rating) into products in a smaller frame than Apple and keep 3.5mm sockets.), they also went on about the improved audio quality the iPhone 7 would offer - totally keeping quiet that the DAC is still a 16bit as used on the iPhone 6 and bluetooth has lower bitrate also, hammering another nail in the coffin of anyone at Apple harping on about the benefits, it also will zap power from the already poor battery and give even worse run time performance.
Apple removed that 3.5mm socket for one thing only..$$$$ - licence fees for third parties who manufacture wireless headphones in the same way hundreds of companies already make Apple products via licences. - Apple eco system at it finest.
so yeah...the Apple way.
* Next gen Android phones are mentioned to be also removing the 3.5mm socket but its a much different picture. Updating the USB protocol means devices that already had USB up to now can just get the new standard and avail of 32Bit audio plus improvements on fast charge and any new updates it will offer.

Do we really have to go back to the IP rating discussion again? We've already done that about 3 times over and the real world difference as per both manufactureres specifications is 50cm. Really not worth making a big song and dance about.

If he wants pie he can start on water resistance. The iPhone beat the Samsung in a pressure test.
