You really should pay more attention to the facts, but yet again you miss out the important details, much like when you're choosing cars, 2 houses, one of which is being turned into 3 apartments.

HTH.

As regards the swimming pool, standard issue out here mate, but yet again I'd expect someone like you to think it was something special, considering your love of Newage STI's.

MUG!

So in conclusion.
The wrx is the best car ever and are only bought by millionaire's who prefer to spend their money on other wonderful things.
The sti is rubbish shown buy its wonderful residual value.
The type r is the best car In the world especially if its broken in a shed because the owner can't afford to fix it.
The internet fantasist has told so many tall tales he's lost track of them all.
Does **** matt smoke crack or has he finally gone mental????
I'm sure all will be revealed soon
Jesus time to get on sioc to buy a other wrx

I know, but I've done the same 100 miles trip, a mix of city town and motorway. Both trying to conserve fuel as much as possible. And again not realy caring and the difference is not worth it. I'm sure a long journey without boosting is actually bad for mpg

ive owned a few,

the wrx has better gearing, but poor brakes,

the sti has the better perfomance more scope for eaier upgrade path but harsher day to day

the spec c spanked them both but too expensive to buy for the age.

all of them have pros and cons, personal opinion dont buy one for the mpg lol

The only other car forum I have ever been on was years ago when I had a 106 rally & I can't recall seeing this kind of crap on there. The really worrying thing for me is that you/we are all grown men.

It's hard having the lighter, faster and more fuel/transmission efficient car at times.

Sometimes I feel like buying a £25 shagged STI gearbox to put in the boot just to get a taste of the STI experience. Maybe even changing gear at 4,500 revs to get an idea of the shorter ratios.

Banter aside, hitting 3rd gear at 40mph must be friggin fun in a 450bhp plus STI, so envious.

Slower cars do.

Ford Fiesta 1.1 gets better mpg than a Ferrari 459.

Isn't rocket science.

Yes things like that happen up North, however, in reality, things are very different.

Ok let's put some figures to this cus this he says she says crap is getting stupid.

Hawk Wrx GB270 Specifications

Engine Flat-4-cyl, 2457cc, turbo
Max power 266bhp @ 5700rpm
Max torque 310lb ft @ 3000rpm
0-60 5.2sec (claimed)
Top speed 143mph (claimed)

Hawk type UK Specifications

Engine Flat-4-cyl, 2457cc, 16v, turbo
Max power 277bhp @ 6000rpm
Max torque 289lb ft @ 4000rpm
0-60 5.0sec (claimed)
Top speed 158mph (claimed)

Now both those sets of stats were taken from Evo and you can quite clearly see the acceleration of both cars is near as dammit the same with the Sti ultimately having the higher top speed (the extra gear ratio will do that)...
