See post above.

It's still required.

For what reason? Does the Carberry require the maf to still be used?

Ordered the new MAF and sensor tonight. Provided they arrive by the weekend I'll try get back over on Sunday for a proper run ☺️

Still, 325bhp on limp mode at under a bar

Well not bad with under a bar and in limp mode. Looking forward to seeing this with some boost behind it.

Yes I did hence my question about the so called maf problem...IMO it's just another eBay turbo doing what it does best....Laggy as ****, no boost and produces bugger all.

Buy cheap buy twice!

Limp mode/boost cut - terminology, whatever.

Stick your uninformed opinions up your hoops until I get it fixed. I KNOW it works. And works well.

It's MAF based, until 3000rpm. Where it switches to SD. Read the thread.

Hate to say it but the graph says otherwise, even on limited boost it should still spool well.

Mine is on low boost to preserve the gearbox, but still spools well

So you're telling me that my graph should be better with non-functioning/limited AVCS due to a broken cam position sensor, a broken MAF resulting in the car not entering speed density at the 3000rpm crossover and having no clue about the airflow? Aye OK.

This is why I hate Scoobynet. Every **** knows best! Peace out.

your stating you KNOW its making good results and then put up a crap graph and start claiming this isnt working that isnt working etc etc, say it's in limp mode, has broken sensors, isnt running the AVCs etc etc

You then spit yer dummy out when people state the obvious failings in what you say, simply put it looks like its run crap but you dont want to admit it.

What I KNOW. Is that it spooled and felt way better (and ****ing faster) than it does now, thanks to above mentioned faults.

What I spit the dummy out at, is belters on Scabbynet thinking they know the ins and outs of MY car. Having never sat in the ****, let alone driven it and telling me I am wrong...

Have you ever thought that perhaps it's what your saying people doubt? This isnt the first time people have come out with claims about this and that and prove to be full of crap. Theres alot of technical expertise on here so if you sprout waffle people will see through it in seconds

Keeping drivability and my mapper is new to Carberry. Plan is to eventually go MAFless

I really couldn't care if you doubt me, I know the cars not right. And that's all that matters

This is why I asked him does the carberry room need the maf(maybe using an internal air temp sensor) to run SD Banny. Not having had the carberry I wasn't sure if it could go mafless because of the way his car is set up.

It will be eventually, once my mapper gets completely used to it.

Hopefully. MAF has arrived at my house - unfortunately I'm away with work during the week but back home tonight or tomorrow! There's a spare cam position sensor at a friends garage, so hopefully get that at some point over the weekend too.

Update on other stuff: Cam position sensor is indeed knackered, disabling the AVCS and causing the car to limit boost to wastegate pres. - explains the ~1bar max on the dyno and lack of anything other than noise.

Will update further, when I get **** sorted

If these fail to fix, my next port of call will be the neutral postion sensor. Done some reading and on JDM (unsure on UK spec) cars, a broken/faulty NPS can cause the same symptoms as mine - no AVCS, lumpy running etc. Didn't have much time to read up on it, but there didn't seem to be that much detail out there on it?

Got AVCS functionality again - cam position sensor replaced.
Lumpy idle partially sorted - MAF replaced

Still not making boost as is should (i.e not making 1.5+ peak) - We're looking at the wastegate actuator and the possibility of leaky headers/up-pipe.

Will update as and when

Awaiting a new actuator arriving, then when it arrives, we'll get the manifold/up-pipe off to check of cracks/leaks and heat wrap them at the same time as fitting the new actuator

How much pre load are you running? will the boost not increase with more pre load? I am running a Chinese actuator off a Chinese 20g, it needs a good amount of pre load, but still works perfectly well.
