Best TV - £500ish?
This one isn't a £500 tv but I was wondering if anyone has experience of this one? I'm still not too sure if I should buy the 65" one but this seems like a good price.

The missus doesn't like the shiny stand and surround!
Will run it past her, but I think we've progressed to a 48 inch now.

I'd deffo keep an eye on the prices of the JS8500/9000/9500, Techradar have the 9 and 8 series at 1st and 5th in their 2015 top 7 TV set list.
The awesome 2013 SONY 55W905 came out at £2400 but was down to £1100 within a year at Currys.
TV's are the work of the devil
we have the following quote from Roald Dahl on the family fridge
“So, please, oh please, we beg, we pray, go throw your TV set away, and in its place you can install, a lovely bookcase on the wall.”

That will look nice and put out a cracking picture. I was advised by someone selling the TV's in Costco not to go for a curved one. He showed me how due to the curve of the screen they pick up more reflections in bright light as compared to a flat tv.

One of the problems with the 2014 curved TVs was there propensity to give off a lot of intrusive reflections. Depending on where you were sat in relation to the screen, during daylight hours they could become near unwatchable but Samsung has made good progress here and that’s now much less of an issue.
My new curved Samsung screen does stretch light across the whole screen but the panel itself dulls reflections quite effectively. Luckily our window is behind the TV and on a night we have an Led strip behind the screen to darken blacks further.
When I watch the TV on a night with the light on, the reflection is a bit fun house. It gives me a huge heed.

OK for casual viewing, you can't game on it so it's not something I'd consider and after owning a 4K set I'd not go back to 1080, ok the resolution increase might not be something on tv's under 60" but the colours and the advent of HDR is.. Personally I would have waited for the 48JS8500 to drop in price.
