Somewhere on a Porsche forum far, far away a nitwit is claiming that a 911 Carrera will blow the socks off a 911 Turbo. The Turbo owners mostly keep quiet while the Carrera owner babbles his nonsense. Because many of them have owned both vehicles and know the truth. The same applies to WRX and Sti owners, many have owned both but I doubt any have gone Sti to Wrx, invariably the other way round. Wonder why?

and the tools like Dytch has an STI locked up in the garage for weekends, because his WRX is his family weekday car, like a VW Passat Estate.

Have you owned both a newage WRX and a newage STI?

1. You would need to earn the money first to buy a Spec C. McDonalds don't pay to well, hence why you have a WRX.

2. Ah Youtube videos - the WRX owners weapon of choice.

Lol your probly just mad your either too fat or too old or just too plain idiotic to ride the bmw. Chances are with the intelegence youve displayed youd be a dead man prety quick! Best stick to the spec c and pretend its the fastest thing money can buy!

Unless you are a MASSIVE BENDER, then you shout about how intelligent people are not, for not being gay.

South scoob just stop...you sound stupid. There's more to an STI than power,it's the full package and unless you've owned/driven one you'll sadly not realise this.

And FYI, no they actually have different chassis codes if we're talking new ages GDA(WRX) and GDB(Sti)

The way I look at it if your comparing standard cars the Sti comes out on top.

Better looks to me at least
More power
Stronger gearbox
Lsd
Dccd
Nicer interior

Only bad points would be a harsher ride and more fuel consumption than a wrx.

But most people add coilovers or springs then tune them up so no comparison there.

If your comparing tuned cars then adding the same basic mods to both cars the Sti is still going to be putting out more power, And still have the trick diff's and extra kit ect

It's also a better place to start if you want to tune as many wrx owners use the Sti intercoolers, turbos , injectors, gearboxes ect as there better items.

Not saying a wrx is a bad car because it's not. But a Sti is a better starting point for tuning.

But if you want a cheaper more comfortable car that can be easily be made to go in a straight line as fast and Stock Sti then wrx is more for you.

Anyway who cares if someone brought a lesser model tuned it up and now it's faster than stock Sti, That's what we're all doing to some extent.

Think we should stop moaning at each other and take the **** out of more expensive car owners that get left by our Subaru's.

But I will say I've lost count of the amount of WRX's with Sti badges on them. Lol

For bugs, blobs & hawks I would prefer Sti vs WRX, although in some areas the WRX is better. I don't think the Sti is worth twice the price but hey ho. I have considered selling my Sti for a WRX at one stage, just so I wouldn't feel as bad thrashing it. I tend to drive my Sti with kid gloves, I know it can take abuse but I don't give it anywhere near as much stick as my daily driver.

For the 2015 model I would agree with the OP, I would choose the WRX. Twin scroll vs troublesome 2.5, although the gearbox would concern me on the WRX, did they ever get that flex problem sorted?

I also don't buy the "If I remap my WRX it's better". Guess what, do the same to the Sti and it is still better than the WRX. Compare like with like!

It's a shame some people have to repeatedly show their "superiority". The ones that shout are usually seriously lacking in some other aspect.

I think the 2015 WRX has a 6 speed box, whether it's the same as the sti or a new box I don't know. It's a shame the WRX S4 has the auto box as it has 290 something bhp, and looks far more discreet than the STI.

Chill out guys, who really cares if Joe Bloggs thinks a WRX is better than an STi.
It's just opinion and each to his own.

Just for the record i was just giving an opinion. All in My opinion..the wrx has a much nicer interior, much nicer ride quality, and better gear ratios for both town and motorway driving, (although the last two are indeed facts!)

you fanboys can go and have a **** in your precious sti's over them and continue to buy them untill you die for all i care

If i realy cared id sell up and buy a sti (got the funds) but it doesnt suit my needs. i wouldnt bother paying twice as much for a car that works worse in the real world imo. Espicaly when my car already looks and sounds like a sti from a previous owner.

Default Three Reasons Why Regular Subaru WRX Is Better Than STI

Anyway just buy a Twinscroll then gear ratios mean nothing as there is no lag, I can drive around in 4th and 5th and the spool/power is there and no need to change gear like in a 5 speed...and ride quality just comes down the the inferior 25mm struts as opposed to the 50mm on the Sti 😃

Exactly where this thread should have finished but unfortunately it's turned into yet another pointless and familiar WRX vs STi slanging match on SN.
