I suppose it depends on which side you butter your bread.
Perhaps we should ask OP to score the following attributes 0-10 (10 being good) to help:

:Bragging Rights
:Straight Line performance
:Handling performance
:Handling engagement
riftoo / knife edge
:Investment
:Reliability / maintainence costs

As good as they are, an NSX would feel painfully slow. Even my shopping hatch whips one. It's not all about straight line speed but coming from a Spec C to an NSX with zero practicality wouldn't be ideal. IMO.

Since I have come from a SPEC C and after that a JDM Hawkeye, I find my A45 AMG most enjoyable.
I said on a number of occasions that this is what the new STI should have been. If you're looking for something as a natural evolution from the SPEC C / JDM STI, the A45 could be for you.

To those suggesting the C63, have you driven one?
Yes, they sound great from the outside. When I took one for a test drive I was massively underwhelmed by the car. It felt like a normal C class and I had to open the window to hear the noise. Seating position was a little odd (but thats just me), I really hate the foot version of the handbrake and the service from Merc was appalling!!!
I would more than likely overlook all the above if it was for a C63 AMG Black, but not just the C63.
Received great service from Audi (when testing a R8 V10) and Aston (when testing a Vantage S).

IMO a feeling of occasion isn't always directly related to a feeling of performance, cutting edge technology or lap times... and most of what I'd consider special enough for 30k+ and <1000miles per year have been covered:
Sierra Cosworth
993 Porsche
964 Porsche
Impreza 22B (I know you've already owned one)
E46 M3 CSL
Audi B5 RS4
Escort Cosworth
R34 GTR
Evo 6 Tommi Mac
Aston Martin V8V
Honda NSX
If you plan to give it a tough time at the occasional trackday then personally, with the exception of the CSL, I'd wince doing it with all of the above and consider one of the following as a base to make some suitable changes to:
E46 M3 CSL
E90 M3
E60 M5 (stretching the 'track-ability' here... but it's got that V10!!)
996 Turbo
R35/GTR
Atom
Caterham
Cheers,
Grant

I'm off work on Friday for 5 weeks so if the wife keeps her legs shut and doesn't give birth until the end then I'll be test driving a few marques, GTR, C63 and also a newish M3 has been thrown into the mix.
My car will be up on here on the For Sale board from Saturday.
