Dog slowly dies in hot car after been left approx. 4 hours :(

It's just stupid to leave a dog in a car on a hot day for that length of time.
The problem is now that I won't be able to leave my dog in the car for 5 minutes on a cool day without some ***** either panning my window in or reporting me.
I have 2 border collies and yes on a normal day I would leave them in the car for 15 minutes while I nip into Tesco on the way back from a walk and with the windows open several inches.
If it's a hot day I simply wouldn't do it. Unfortunately it involves common sense and some people have none
