I partake in a lot of "beer tourism" toured through europe last year and year before with the aim of drinking as much beer in as many different places as possible....
So, you have a few options really!
As mentioned previously, warsteiner. Absolutely lovely, especially when served cold in the bottle. Good all rounder that everyone will like.
Delerium Tremens, acquired taste, probably not for everyone, and it all depends what one you get as to how long people are left standing for! Very strong, does what it says on the bottle! Lovely beer imo, but drink responsibly lol!
Brugse Zot, again, lovely, IMO one of the best beers going, strong enough to sort the men from the boys but very tasty. Goes down well when the sun is shining.
As a curve ball, I would suggest a beer called Bofferding for a summer party... And as any good best man would have to do, is its only available in luxembourg so you'll just have to go out there and try some! Terrible!
You could also go for Amstel or something similar for a little bit more of a safer choice.
Personally for something everyone will enjoy I'd say warsteiner.

Can't help with the lagers, but my favourite ale at the moment (apart from Old Peculiar) is Innis & Gunn offerings - just fantastic stuff.

Ok, so today I've picked up some Warsteiner, Tyskie and some Asahi black. I was looking around for the Sharp's lager but they only had Sharp's ales. They're in the fridge now and I'll sample them this evening.
I was also thinking of picking up some Sam Adams Boston lager, anybody tried it?

Generally, anything "beer" related made in america is not any good.... Obviously there are exceptions but they arent particularly well known for their brewing "prowess"!

Hook Norton Haymaker is crisp as are Badger Golden Glory and Champion. Bitburger is a nice Lager and they do an alcohol-free version which I now drink. All down to personal taste, but worth a try.

At my wedding we ordered a "PIN" 28 pint barrel from a local micro brewery, the Ale was called Mallards Duckling and we just tapped it on the day, there were only 3 of us drinking it for the most part, me and my 2 best men although a few other people had the odd couple of pints.
As far as Ale goes something like Pale Rider is a good summer session beer, even I can drink 4/5 pints of that before I become a little un-ruley or other pale Ales from the Norton brewery are a safe bet, Elsie Mo and Timothy Taylors Landlord go down well and easy enough to find in supermarkets.
Lidl do a decent Pilsner, it's a little gassy but nice clean crisp beer for a summers day, can't remember the name but it begins with 'P' brewed properly in somewhere like Germany and comes in bottles.
Hoegaarden also goes down well in summer but I never go over 2 pints of the stuff 3rd pint tends to be a bridge too far for me, stagger, stagger, slur, slur.

Thanks. Tried the Warsteiner and Tyskie last night both of which were quite nice.
Need to get my hands on some Bitburger as it seems to have won loads of awards
