Scotland - what now?

I care as much about what Scotland do as I care about what France does, just not on my radar TBH.
I'd like to see them get what they want if only for the entertainment value, whether they do well or not doesn't concern me, it would be interesting to watch how it goes for them.
I do have a feeling that it's one thing for them to show their distain for the English politicians much like the English do in By-elections, but it's a different kettle of fish when it comes to voting out of the Union whether the be UK or Europe.
In my eyes they have a very vocal minority with many sympathisers that will nod and agree with the Nationalist sentiments, but when it comes to putting a X in the out box they lack confidence in their Politicians / Scotlands ability to stand alone on the world stage, which I think is a point of view that has merit.

United Kingdom. That'll be why. I don't like it when Labour get in, but I can accept it (although probably not anytime soon due to the SNP, so there is a definite upside to Scottish whingers).

Who are you ranting at? Not the Scots I hope? You can blame Blair, Miliband and Cameron for the situation, no one else. Cameron was a blind fool over the referendum and nearly didn't realise what was happening until it was too late. Miliband should have stayed neutral, but like an idiot sided with Camo and killed his party in Scotland and probably in England too in the long run! Salmond out manoeuvred everyone and is a very astute politician, Sturgeon seems to be as good if not better! Well played to them
Polls still show a majority in favour of the union

Been a big change up here since then Martin, the failed delivery on certain things that was promised like the Vow has caused a big shift towards the SNP and independance which has just been made clear, I would put my money in it being an outright yes if it happened again, mind you I'm still pretty convince we were fcuked over last time from fiddling and fudging figures...

Send me an excavator and I'll do it even quicker, but saying that once Camorons finished fracking the place will be split in two anyway..

The majority of people in Scotland are not stupid. There will never be a yes vote while the numbers don't stack up.
Why the hell would I vote for something that makes me worse off and lowers my quality of life?
No thanks!

I have a brother in law who has just lost his job due to being unable to continue as a result of MS. I was staring a disability in the face myself last year, but fortunately it didn't come to pass.
So yes, I completely agree with you on that point. Benefits for the truly disabled should increase, not the opposite. The cuts should be made to the benefits for scroungers and immigrants.

I am genuinely interested.

If you think life under Tory rule is fine then that's your business, meanwhile there are lots who think the opposite.

The problem is that you are already behind the curve - the "low hanging" fruit in terms of cuts have already taken place.
The really poor, disadvantage and long term "dolers" together with the benefit cheats have already been targeted by this last government
That is what will be so interesting, the next tranch of cuts will be to people actually in work or genuinely disabled - but low payed enough to require extra help to make ends meet
That help is going to be cut or withdrawn altogether
Robert Joyce, a senior economist with the Institute for Fiscal Studies (IFS), told the BBC the work reflected the fact that the easiest benefit cuts had already been made: the choices faced by a future Tory government would be the “less palatable options that would involve overnight takeaways from certain families”.
Quite scary reading, if you are on low pay or disabled

In the meantime the UK government need to prevent the union being broken up by resentment and pigheadedness. After the referendum and this result in the election a lot of Scotland are not going to like a Westminster government dominated by English Tories (neither do I as it happens).
