Don't forget the 13 years of Labour from 1997!!!

I do have a feeling that it's one thing for them to show their distain for the English politicians much like the English do in By-elections, but it's a different kettle of fish when it comes to voting out of the Union whether the be UK or Europe.

In my eyes they have a very vocal minority with many sympathisers that will nod and agree with the Nationalist sentiments, but when it comes to putting a X in the out box they lack confidence in their Politicians / Scotlands ability to stand alone on the world stage, which I think is a point of view that has merit.
+1 Which one of the reasons why they voted no.

How is that any different to me saying I live in East Anglia which is historically Conservative and yet I had to put up with Blair when we never voted for him?

United Kingdom. That'll be why. I don't like it when Labour get in, but I can accept it (although probably not anytime soon due to the SNP, so there is a definite upside to Scottish whingers).

You are forgetting one very important fact... the result of the referendum.

Polls still show a majority in favour of the union

Been a big change up here since then Martin, the failed delivery on certain things that was promised like the Vow has caused a big shift towards the SNP and independance which has just been made clear, I would put my money in it being an outright yes if it happened again, mind you I'm still pretty convince we were fcuked over last time from fiddling and fudging figures...

Let's face it, you could have pinned an SNP rosette on the corpse of Jimmy Savile and it would have got elected...

Send me an excavator and I'll do it even quicker, but saying that once Camorons finished fracking the place will be split in two anyway..

I seriously doubt it. If we'd voted yes, we'd now be ****ting our pants at the prospect of becoming instantly bankrupt on the day of the split, due to the tanked oil price.

The majority of people in Scotland are not stupid. There will never be a yes vote while the numbers don't stack up.

Why the hell would I vote for something that makes me worse off and lowers my quality of life?

No thanks!

Yea like life under another five years of Tory rule is going to be a real step ahead regarding quality of life, just you go tell that to some of the disabled in this country.

I'll take my chances.

I didn't say I wanted a Tory government, just that I don't believe we can afford to be independent.

I have a brother in law who has just lost his job due to being unable to continue as a result of MS. I was staring a disability in the face myself last year, but fortunately it didn't come to pass.

So yes, I completely agree with you on that point. Benefits for the truly disabled should increase, not the opposite. The cuts should be made to the benefits for scroungers and immigrants.

Instead of regurgitating lefty propaganda, why don't you tell us exactly how YOU suffered as a result of the last Government.
I am genuinely interested.

If you think life under Tory rule is fine then that's your business, meanwhile there are lots who think the opposite.

All of the comments are pretty pointless, votes don't lie or go on opinion.

Scots voted to stay, the voters voted conservatives in.

The problem is that you are already behind the curve - the "low hanging" fruit in terms of cuts have already taken place.

The really poor, disadvantage and long term "dolers" together with the benefit cheats have already been targeted by this last government

That is what will be so interesting, the next tranch of cuts will be to people actually in work or genuinely disabled - but low payed enough to require extra help to make ends meet

That help is going to be cut or withdrawn altogether

Robert Joyce, a senior economist with the Institute for Fiscal Studies (IFS), told the BBC the work reflected the fact that the easiest benefit cuts had already been made: the choices faced by a future Tory government would be the “less palatable options that would involve overnight takeaways from certain families”.

Quite scary reading, if you are on low pay or disabled

In the meantime the UK government need to prevent the union being broken up by resentment and pigheadedness. After the referendum and this result in the election a lot of Scotland are not going to like a Westminster government dominated by English Tories (neither do I as it happens).
Heard this three times on the drive back from Bucks to Scunny this afto.

So YOU haven't actually suffered then, but are in fact a champion for those supposedly less well off.

Even wee Eck told his supporters to accept the democratic verdict of the people of Scotland, but why let a little thing like no evidence get in the way of a good old conspiracy theory.

I never said there was no evidence I said I didn't have any, but anyway as it had nothing to do with you I wouldn't worry about it.
