W1a did this situation really well the other night. Especially considering it was filmed pre-"fracas".
It depicted that BBC executives had a weekly meeting and the first thing on the agenda was whatever clarkson had said on the previous episode of TG and whether or not he had apologised for it.

Whilst it was filmed pre-sacking, Was this "censoring" done post sacking?
A matter of national importance
Because, IIRC, they also had the bleep for something else.

Why on earth is this being debated still?
He assaulted a fellow worker, no excuses, no acceptable reason for it. If he had a valid contract he should have been sacked anyway. The rest of allt he articles are just headline grabbing rusbish, Lets move on now shall we.

The BBC have come up witha "dream team" to replace the old trio, Jodie Kidd, Guy Martin and Philip Glenister(??). Not sure that combination will have the same "chemistry" like Clarkson, Hammond and May.

Not a lot apparently....
I've seen Jody Kidd presenting on the Classic Car show and she has the charisma of a plank of wood. Guy Martin would be good in a "geeky" way a bit like James May, only faster. But they'd have to completely redesign the show format, they couldn't follow the current format, there will always be comparisons that would be detrimental to for presenters and the new show.

So:
ANOTHER Apology
circa £100,000
and a new position at the BBC.
A nice days work if I say so myself
I think if I worked at the beeb I'd also try and get myself punched by a celeb co-worker.
