Apples Watch and stuff
Should have taken a screen shot this morning, when you finish a bike ride it tells you - on the watch - all of the data that DPB or Jon asked for, next time I'll take one. Still waiting for that loaf of bread on the head though.
I can do all of that too, some great apps out there, no plugging in for me though.

Here's a sport watch compromise actually worth the money , (not just a fancy bracelet)
its got connections too ....http://weartested.org/garmin-vivoact...tive-lifestyle

The Garmin looks great, has a lovely iPhone app, there are load of things I like about it, sleep tracking for one. Can't wait to see how many app developers start releasing Garmin version of their software, probably more than Windows.
Do note that they didn't compare it to Matt's proper watch, all watches are now compared to the Apple Watch because it's that good.

Oh my! It's £230, that's Apple money. And the battery sapping heart rate monitor is not on the watch itself, you have to wear a band around your chest every time you wear the watch, that's going to get uncomfortable after a day, let alone a couple of years, not very good for health tracking. You do know that one of the Sport functions of the watch is that it detects when you're doing exercise, uses heart rate - built in - and motion sensing, it's one of the best features and the hardest to match it seems.
Yup, you probably can drain your watch pretty fast using it as a phone, it's tiny, there are limitations, but if that limitation means I won't be talking to my wrist for long calls then that's fine by me as there's no getting away from looking like a ****.
What are you talking about , he briefly mentioned apple watch as a comparison with this one ..
He didn't compare it to a proper sports triathlon watch , because it isn't

What are you talking about, take a look at you link, is that orange, blackberry or Apple in the title.
As for troublesome, yes, it can, if you have solid black tattoos on both wrists. I don't, I can think of one person on this thread who probably has a full tribal sleeve.
Several actual sports watches for actual sportsmen come with the same sensors , along with all the other stuff required, and STILL cheaper than your watch
But you still seem to believe they'll buy it instead , incredible

Look, if you want a watch that only has a sport mode then fine, the Apple Watch does much more, it's not just sport tracking it's health tracking, checking in at airports, starting your car, use your imagination - or give me a picture with a loaf of bread on your head and I'll use mine for you.
You're still sounding like a Blackberry fan when the iPhone came out, at least one person on here ended up on medication they were so full of spite. If you're buying a Smart Watch get your money out, if you're not jog on, without heart rate tracking.
But we're talking about SPORTS watches.
Apple SPORTS watch has almost zero water resistance and dire battery life. So you can't do a triathlon with it. Or swim. I wouldn't trust it on heavy rain. Or fording a river which I've done several times. I couldn't have used it on my night trail race because I had run down a river and through a waterlogged tunnel. I couldn't use it on any endurance race because it wouldn't last long enough. I couldn't enjoy a quick dip in the sea after a coast run which I often do. I couldn't use it as a watch because there's no way I'd charge one every single night. I couldn't use it with the huge range of ant+ accessories available such as power meters and my incredibly reliable heart rate monitor (which is also waterproof enough to swim with).
So as a SPORTS watch (which they call it) it's rubbish.
As a FASHION accessory it's rubbish because it looks rubbish/gay.
As a STATUS symbol it fails because no athlete or vaguely stylish person would wear it.
As a pointless accessory that must rival car stereo remote control devices, it's great.
Of course it gets compared to other stuff, Apple shout so loudly about their kit, no one can miss it.

Mattee, for some reason I thought you worked in Marketing, thought it would be obvious that Apple don't need to do any shouting, look how vocal you are and you don't even like it.
It's great for Darts and don't try to tell me Darts isn't a sport.

Apple is going for the mass market, so none of the above really matter.
They will sell millions and make millions, but all the more specific devices mentioned will sell only 1000's.
Apple win
I love the plugging it in comments from you, especially when you proudly show us your data, that you had to plug your watch in to display, I excersise multiple times per day and want that data straight away, I connect my watch iess than you plug yours in, what's it like to sleep in anyhow? I never sleep with my watch on so charging it is just a matter of laying it down on a fancy piece of firewood, no bother.
The Stand Up thing is getting slightly annoying, I'd just made myself a coffee - instant - none of that metrosexual stuff and as soon as I sat down it told me to Stand Up. I'm sure they'll fine tune it but for now it might get turned off.
