That's gonna do their reputation a load of good isn't it!

First off, they won't refund his deposit. Then they kill him. That's gonna put some people off buying from them.

I'm still here folks. Chuckling to some of the recent comments!

The wheels are in motion, cogs are turning etc etc. It's not likely to be something that's resolved overnight though.

So they haven't given you your money back?
And you have told them that you don't want the car?

Not sure. I haven't been able to check my online banking recently. I've been bound and gagged and spent the best part of the week in the back of a transit van

I went for a test drive in it last weekend I hope they've changed the front tyres and done the tracking the off side one has no tread on the inside. They said that they would be replacing the fronts before selling it to me, the only reason I didn't buy it was because of their reputation

But who sells a car without doing that before it's even advertised?

Lazy *******.

On a £1000 part ex, I can understand, but not a £10k motor.

Am l missing something, if the OP has told CP that he no longer wants to buy the car.

Can't CP now continue to try and sell the car?

I agree it would be a nice if they refunded the deposit, but clearly this garage aren't that bothered.

This basically sums them up and all other dodgy car dealers.

So he gave up then.
Not surprising really as he didn't have a leg to stand on.

'Oh it has a strut brace....so its not as advertised then!'

And all could have been avoided by doing 5 minutes of research before hand.

The rear spoiler on the wrx is hideous. I would hardly say spending £300 on a rear spoiler vs another £4k for an STI is really the same thing is it?

As fishes go, that was an extremely lame one.

Surely some development here before now? Did you get the money back or not?

It's been transferred to my local court, just waiting for them to give me a hearing date. I expect the end of July - August

Just to add my experience with these con men. I've owned my 2003 Uk Sti for just over a year now and has only required the usual maintenance so although my car was ridiculously overpriced it does work very well.

Mostly my own fault, for not doing proper research. I paid 11k for a car i later found to be traded in for £8,500 - £9,000. Again if i had done some homework id know that over 10k your into jdm money. The worst part that still pisses me off till this day is that they sold me it without any tax. I had to pay for 6 months after handing over 11k for a 2003 sti non widertrack. Ok it had on 46K on it so low miles and 360 bhp. But to not tax a car they have sold was just ripping the **** out of it. as if the didn't make enough on the sale.

On a positive note tho the cars hasn't skipped a beat and is probs the best i have owned

Crikey even to get the 8500-9000 on trade was ambitious for an 03. Is it heavily modified?

Yep seen that before, lesson learned bout dealers eh..

Just lucky i managed to get in touch with previous owner through here who kinda softened the blow by telling me how well it had been cared for..

My main point was that even after clearly making a huge profit on the car they wouldn't even tax it.

Standard markup woth garages in second hand cars is £ 2-2500 to cover cost of warrenty and wheel refurbishment and scratches and service and maybe a few hundred to cover salesman and sales manager commission
Garages have to make a profit so 2k isn't unreasonable
