What have I done!!! - EDIT Cheshire Performance Cars Limited - READ

So I was getting sick of the Peugeot 308 1.6. Missed the playfulness of my older Fiesta ST and wanted something a bit special.

Just paid a deposit on a 2005 WRX STI with PPP in Aspen White :D

Pick her up tomorrow. In the meantime I'll be making myself more familiar with this forum I guess!

Can't wait - it's toatally standard apart from the PPP. Just need some new tyres in the near future and some new brake pads sooner rather than later.

So, have a done an awful thing that I'll regret?! Hope not!!!

BBB3 01 March 2015 05:04 PM

Welcome Is it a hawk or blob?

2.5 or 2.0 :)

R8JimBob88 01 March 2015 05:06 PM

It's the blob. 2.0l

Hawkeye D 01 March 2015 05:07 PM

Good boy! Welcome aboard.

White STi's are pretty rare, and PPP is a nice touch. Keep it nice and clean.
For tyres try Camskill.co.uk they offer decent prices and quick delivery. Bridgestone Potenza RE070 for me....if you have the standard 17" STi wheels of course.

Enjoy and don't molest it too much!

Welcome to ScoobNet mate, plenty of good advice on the site and loads of info found using the search function :)
2005 STI in white sounds like a good choice. Is it from a dealer? There are plenty of good traders about but equally plenty of bad ones too.
Be nice to see some pics of the car when you can mate. All I will say is ENJOY! They're a great car in every way :thumb:

R8JimBob88 01 March 2015 05:10 PM

I'm not one for modifying anyway. I'm not particularly mechanically minded to be honest:freak3:

It's had 1 owner from new, FSH and goes like stink compared to the 308.... Body work is immaculate.

Hawkeye D 01 March 2015 05:17 PM

Pics please!!

R8JimBob88 01 March 2015 05:29 PM

You really do need to be sure and thorough checks needed before committing to buy from this or other traders. They don't have a bad rep for nothing!

Hawkeye D 01 March 2015 05:43 PM

PM the reg number if you like, and I'll happily do an HPi at work for you.

scoobygaz1 01 March 2015 05:45 PM

Worth doing an rac/aa engineers report for peace of mind :)

get the deposit back asap

gazney101 01 March 2015 05:52 PM

It sounded so good until i saw the cheshire link. What a laugh ive just had. Lol.

It looks mint though. The way i see it is its either a good car or not regardless of the sellers reputation.

I hope its a good one.

Welcome to subaru ownership

fat-thomas 01 March 2015 05:54 PM

the title fits in quite well as the car is from cheshire performance ;)

R8JimBob88 01 March 2015 05:58 PM

Ah ****, didn't know about their reputation...

Hopefully the car is a good 'un and their services will no longer be required after I pick it up....

it may be but personally i wouldnt take the chance.
get an independant inspection done prior to buying.
if you buy without this and hope for the best you are an idiot given the information and links supplied above showing their terrible reputation in the subaru community.

Gear Head 01 March 2015 06:21 PM

This. They have recently been taken to court and lost, so they obviously don't look after their customers. I'm sure he will be along soon to threaten me with legal action if I don't retract my statement. That's the companies usual trick.

Honestly mate, if you can, walk away!

^^^ This

let us know how you get on..
maybe you have a good one and CP can redeem what little reputation they have left :D

powerwrx 01 March 2015 06:42 PM

hope its a good one for you mate but given their reputation ide be warey... I would also get the tyres and brake pads replaced by them before I bought it that's for sure, they should sort those sort of things before its put up for sale imo

R8JimBob88 01 March 2015 06:42 PM

Righty then, I'll be on the phone to them first thing tomorrow. I'm not gonna drive it away until it's had an proper independent report and I'm happy.

more than i would put in chesh1te performance.

it should flag up major issues but id get a decent independent that knows impreza's

but given the money you are spending and the info you have about the seller what if the car is fine and develops a legitemate fault down the line.

would you trust them to sort it out???

READ THE THREAD YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!
