Giving too much away online

I have seen marriages and relationships falling apart here on SN. Quite open cheatings, even. I've seen people threatening and disclosing people's personal info here on SN. The number of such cases is limited here on SN due to some factors; one being less opposite sex to the majority of men here, and another one being generally less number of people posting here.
Facebook as a social media tool isn't at fault. It's the state of your relationship and the person you're involved with. If someone is to cheat on you, because they're after something else, they'll do it anywhere. They may find someone in some pub or something to cheat with. Yes, Facebook makes it easier to access the wider pool, but I think it's even better because you then know what sort of person you're with. If Facebook shuts down, and if your partner with cheating tendencies or half-fulfilled needs ends up having limited options doesn't mean that they are not half-fulfilled or non-cheats. I think Facebook ends up showing the reality, which may be hurtful and shocking, but truth is better in the long run imo, so that you yourself can do better for yourself.
In a nutshell, it's not the Facebook, it's the people who misuse it or use it to their benefit, and/or to hurt others. Trustworthy will remain trustworthy no matter what; even if George Clooney sends them a Valentines message on Facebook!

Just to go back to this and to be serious for a moment - geo tagging in photos.
I had a quick scan of a few photos published on here and found at least two posters whose images contained the location of where images were taken which is probably their home addresses. I am not going to mention their names as that would be silly but I will PM them and warn them.
Be more vigilant people and make sure you strip the EXIF data or at least the geo-tagging off your images before posting.
Search Google for ways to do it as it varies depending on what hardware/software you are using.
