Sadly I missed one comment which allowed an in road for the sniping to continue.

The comments were removed, so that should have been the end of it, at least on this thread. If people want to discuss the general issue of inappropriate or offensive comments, members conduct, moderation etc. then feel free to pop to the policy section and do so there, preferably in a civil manner.
That's not quite right though is it?

Maguire posted a baiting comment and when he got no response posted a blatant homophobic comment. I RTM'd it, but as RTMs seem to have been fairly ineffective towards certain other topics just recently (NOT a dig at you, more at SN in general) I decided to tell him what I thought.

Fair enough that you chose to remove all the comments and that is up to you as you are the moderator, but it wasn't a case of me baiting him... I just told him what I think of people that make those comments and a separate more general comment as to maybe why some so called alpha males find gay men so threatening.

I didn't say you had just baited him alone. That is why his first post in the thread was deleted, as it was clearly baiting you.

Whatever you think about the recent response to RTMs, you didn't even give us a chance. The thread was posted at 1.18, and within under 40 minutes of that, the comments were removed, a mere 9 minutes after your RTM. Thankfully in this instance, one of us (me) was about at the time to deal with it.

What has annoyed me a bit here, isn't so much you didn't give any time for us to respond before saying your bit, but the fact you RTM'd it, then later seen that it was acted upon, but yet you still felt the need to continue the 'argument' later. The whole point in removing posts is to get threads back on topic/take out offensive comments, not so that it picks up where it left off anyway. If that is going to happen, we might as well not bother.

PM sent. What we have here is a difference of opinion. Not going to let the likes of Maguire play the hard done by card when he is the issue! If that is considered baiting then ban me!

Shame, I didn't even get to see the insult.

The ad is perverse though.

That is hardly playing hard done by, and for all you or me, or anyone knows, may not have even been said, had you not chosen to continue on from past deleted posts.

His previous posts were removed for a reason, and yours as I have explained and that should have been that.

This shouldn't be about a difference of opinion. An issue was acted upon, and if anyone is unhappy with the decision made, then it should be voiced in policy, not continued in a thread, where said action has been taken.

As I said in the PM we are just going to have to agree to disagree. I can't be fagged arguing about it. The point is he will do it again., he always does!

Ad is borderline cringe/funny. Personally I find it very funny, especially the expression on the face of the woman with the wierd hairdo.

I've never bought something because of a celebrity fronted advert. I don't know how many of you are in the same boat. I just don't get the point of them. I will never use webuyanycar irrespective of James Corden being the voice on the adverts. I was eating Walkers Crisps before Linekar advertised them. I'd rather have a better value for money product in my hands than watch over-priced adverts on TV reaching out to those that don't......

Well in the age of sky+ (constant fast forwarding) and YouTube, adverts have to do well to get people talking so this ones done the trick.

I think it's funny and I'm quite disappointed when it's the short version lol.
