Less crime doesn't mean there is less conflict in a society only that the authorities are better at preventing crime, through various techniques, prisons, police, surveillance, etc.

Aside from that we're just wonderful as a nation
The stats do not support your argument.

To be clear we don't have 'doctors' abusing dying kids. We had one doctor that did.

For someone who complains about the spinning of the press, you do some pretty good job of that yourself.

Well we are definitely going to have one less undesirable in this country very soon.

Shame his timing isn't great though

Yes but then it would be as Australia doesn't have a tool like Osborne who manipulates the figures and has half the workforce trapped in low paid jobs and an electorate full of sheep that swallow his every line as long as they are doing alright.... ah looky here then

At the end of the day what will be will be. I know the likes of you two and several others on here would love it to all go t1ts up and me to come crawling back with my tail between my legs. But then that is the sort of people you are.... this country is full of that sort of mentality and is one of the reasons I want to f**k off in the first place. Tall poppy syndrome and all that.

Anyway if it happens then so be it. At least I will have tried rather than wondered.

Chris, I have said it before and I'll say it again, I hope it all works out for you, I really do. At least you'll have made the effort and are willing to go through all the upheavel to try and build a better life for yourself which I really admire. It's the wasters who will not do anything to help themselves that I have no time for, and believe me when I say I see plenty of them in my line of work. Just goes to show how very little you know about me, yet you seem to take every opportunity to slate me.

I know and I'm only riling against your comments about me never going and how its all falling apart over there. At the end of the day nowhere is perfect and I am sure it won't be without its challenges but there is something different about Aus that I really like. Yes I have only spent six months working there and it is different when you live somewhere, but I need to try it. Anyway I will know soon enough.

You need to work hard in Australia I reckon , no slacking around on forums.

Theres big competition ,from other very hungry migrants .

They're cracking down on the indigenous taking the state for ride too ....

Probably not too bad if you're semi retired

(like anywhere then)

I disagree about racism being worse in the 70s. There was a lot less understanding back then and most racism was based on that .... today it has a nasty and more sinister edge to it. It's less obvious now I grant you, but deeper rooted and more underground. It's not pleasant.

I was listening to some Jews on the radio describing how there had been some 300 individual attacks on UK synagogues and Jewish people in the last few months. They were saying 25 years ago there were protests in the streets by the NF and the likes, but today it's all about cowardly attacks on individuals of all creeds and colours by all creeds and colours

Anyway IMO it's become a sad nasty small minded little country and the sooner I am on my way the better.

And I'll raise you:

UK most unequal country in the West - Huge gap between rich and poor in Britain is the same as Nigeria and worse than Ethiopia, UN report reveals

That said it is an article in the press and we all know what I think of them

It's not really a 'raise' is it?

It's a completely different point.
