ISIS sinks to new depths of depravity
They are comparable in that they were both, supposedly, some kind of conduit for the word of God.
Their character and actions seem, in many but not all instances, to have been different, these may well have been because of the time, place and circumstances in which they lived.
Their philosophies were probably not that different...I don't know for sure. Neither does anybody alive today. We can only surmise any of this, you will find opposing views in countless numbers of 'authentic' sources.

From: If you're not braking or accelerating you're wasting time.
The point you seem to be missing(conveniently avoiding) is that ISIS are still using their religion as a reason. The west gave up barbaric religious practices years ago as have most religions around the world.
Why are you even trying to reason an argument for these idiots?

JT - I'm afraid I don't know Mohammed's original aims (although he's good on Final Score...!), but I'll bet killing innocent people wasn't one of them.
You are joking aren't you...do you really think I'm trying to reason an argument for ISIS?
My only argument is that you shouldn't believe that all Muslims are warmongering, hate filled lunatics...that's just deluded.

The vast majority of Muslims are nominal and apathetic.

"The Italian coastguard is conducting a major rescue operation to try to save more than 1,000 migrants in difficulty on the Mediterranean Sea."
it's hard, and they die

"At least 300 migrants are thought to have drowned this week, while attempting to cross the Mediterranean Sea from North Africa"
please pray for them - even though I know no "religion" is involved , just poverty and the human desire to have a better life

Also, over 2000 of them have been saved by the Italian rescuers.

From the above link:
Some European countries, including the UK, have said a rescue service for migrants could encourage refugees to continue making the crossing.
Do they keep on with these dangerous voyages because they're constantly being rescued, or are they being rescued because they keep drowning?
Italy may have better heart than other countries, at least for now, until they get exhausted as well. Globe as one is not the home for all, the countries have been fenced up long time ago.
The migrants shouldn't put their life in the danger like that, but when one is desperate or chasing a dream, one could or would go to any length, I suppose. Otherwise, why on earth would you leave your homeland and battle with the dreadful storms on a deadly sea to get to the shore on the other side.
Egypt has kicked their @rse.

No, it's not.

So, I'm just wondering if they should be left to die horrific deaths in the sea instead. Imagine our foot in their shoe.

They were trafficked and the traffickers made out that they were gonna catch big ships to mainland Europe. But they lied. So the migrants were just left in the dinghies, at the mercy of the Med.
Dispicible: as always, the people traffickers profiting on their desperation - in this case, to flee from their dangerous countries. And to hell with them, once the traffickers have their fees.
Reminds me of that awful, hard-to-watch scene in Amistad, where the slaves were thrown overboard, all chained together with a load of rocks at the very end of the chain.
