Would the v3 be rarer as they have the pre facelift dash door cards etc??

The v3 are more aggressive cams to the v4 not much in it but there is. I wanted v3 but I stumbled on v4 instead as they are like rocking horse poo to get hold of either.

Yes, both marques are getting hard to find especially the V3. Most Type-R's going through the Jap auctions are V5-V6. If you look at the prices asked by dealers on Goo Net in Japan for the V3 /V4 n 3.5 grade plus condition they are asking $8000 to over $10,000 FOB and there selling at those prices too. Allot of folk out there World wide now want to own these rare marques with the Rally pedigree and ***** out performance, it's a no brainer!

From what I've read the V3 sti cams have slightly more duration than the v4.
They also have different part numbers, I'd of thought if they were exactly the same they would share the same part number.
There was a thread about them over on NASIOC that I read a couple of years back.

Duration would be less of an angle from the Middle to the tip? I would imagine duration would aid torque rather than peak power? I read a fair bit into them from different forums and tbh never heard there was any difference in performance and it would be weird to find out Subaru very slightly downgraded. Although they made the newage after the classic lol.
Oh well, learn something new every day .
